Di Natale, Muriel, Milito, Balotelli, if you use Palacio and Zanetti, you could even put Aguero up front with IF Milito. the forwards are fine in every league, you can always find at least 2 decent ones. it's the defenders and midfielders which are harder to come by, only really BPL, Serie A, Liga BBVA and Brazil have solid defences.

Ligue 1 and Russian League have been nerfed in defence this year, making them useless for me. In fact a lot of defender's have been nerfed in the pace and defence stats, making them useless. How is it possible a france international centre back is worse at defending than a scottish international midfielder? oh wait he plays for manchester utd so he automatically gets uber stat boost.

I bought a 4 3 1 2 formation card for my manager, I've applied it and his 'square hole' box has gone green. What benefits will this have? Pretty happy with my team, I'm playing offline Seasons at the moment to grind some coins together.

This is where the game gets complicated. I've got players for both the 4 4 2 and 4 3 1 2 formations. I'm gonna have to concentrate I have the right players on field when playing those different formations. For example on the weekend I changed my formation from 4 4 2 to 4 3 1 2 but kept the same players on the team, the 'boot' icon must have gone yellow for some of the players so I should have substituted these. Or am I giving this 'boot icon' and 'square hole' icon too much presidence?

Manager matching the team formation means a +10 boost to team chemistry. Matching manager nationality means a +1 chemistry per matching players (so an English manager will boost English players)

Boot icon = position
Green means they are in the right position for card (a CM at CM)
Orange means they are one position off their card (a CDM at CM)
Red means they are not it a suitable position at all (a ST at CM)

Box icon = formation
Green means they have the correct formation for your team (a 442 CB in a 442 team)
Orange means they have a similar formation for your team (a 4312 CB in a 442 team)
Red means they dont have a suitable formation on their card for your team (a 352 CB in a 442 team)

Makes sure your players are at least Orange, for most here its paramount to ensure players get decent chemistry to ensure they play well. I personally am happy to play with players with 7 chem and up - player chemistry is affected by the box icon, boot icon and what players they have around them and the manager used. Its easy to get 9 so dont think you have to have a full English team with right position/formation to do that...

P.S. In your case between 4312 and 442 only the defenders would get orange box icon if you used them in the other formation - STs should do aswell but not 100% sure...

He will get 9 as hell be in correct formation and position and have links to the neighbouring CB and CM (all BPL).

Ive always been of the attitude it makes better sense to sell and rebuy players (especially cheaper ones) in the right formation/position than to apply cards on them as it seems silly to spend 1k on a 4312 card when the player isnt worth much more, my rule of thumb is if the players under 10k buy in right formation/position.

As an aside if you made him any 4 at the back formation (or bought him as such) he would get an orange box icon and be 7 chem - sometimes when starting out say with 41212 because its such an expensive formation you can get away with using similar formation players to reduce the inflated prices you would have to. TBH the permutations regards chemistry is kinda complicated which is why we use websites like FUTHead to work out stuff like that before we buy, they arent always 100% accurate but better than nothing.

Your RB can be bought in formation for about 400 coins, don't waste 1400 on a formation card where you could list him for 300 coins/400 BIN, and buy another for about the same.

Yeah but seeing as he's ridiculously cheap, I'd sell that one and just buy him again in the right formation.

Basically if you want to play 4312 (which I wouldn't recommend, it's dog****), I'd sell everyone you have there and buy them all in the right formation. Also, get a gold manager in the right formation, any nationality, and you'll get 10 chemistry.

Dunno if Andy has given you some coins but I've still got a few left I'm not using if you want to trust me? That Shane guy seems to have disappeared so you may as well have them.

Im confused, I bought a 4 3 1 2 formation card, doesnt that mean whoever I apply the formation card to they will automatically adjust to the corrent formation? For example Ben Arfa is RW in his card but I want him to be able to play CM. So was the 4 3 1 2 card the wrong card to buy? Are there cards that will let me do this though?

EDIT: seen some Position cards, currently looking for RW > CM card
 
Sadly not, 4312 uses a RB, LB, 2 x CB, 3 x CM, 1 x CF, 2 x ST, if Arfia is surrounded by Newcastle players, or dirty french BPL players he could get his chemistry up to 7, but sadly he won't be perfect.

The "CM" etc.. next to the position tell you what position the player needs to be to be "correct" I'm afraid mate.

Its a long learning curve and its tough to get it right at the start!
