Chris Taylor on the Fall of Gas Powered Games

will be a sad loss if GPG falls however for me the Wildman project just doesnt excite me at all.

I do think what he said about some people investing in their faith in Chris Taylor rather than Wildman may come true, but lets see how it goes.

he sounds genuinely passionate about his games and its hard not to find that kind of passion endearing, just another example of how the big publishers just eat up them small companies and leave them fighting for funding.

Great interview. Sounds like a genuine, well rounded guy. :)

I recommend you set aside the time to watch it.

Several former GPG people are working on Planetary Annihilation now aren't they?

Superb interview. Sad to see Chris Taylor like that but a very insightful interview none the less. He made my favourite game Total Annihilation with Supreme Commander FA not far behind. I hope things turn around for him.

That was a good video. Hadn't expected to actually watch it all, but I was captivated.

I really hope that GPG get through this. I can see why some people don't like the Wildman idea, which is a shame, but think it sounds pretty interesting (especially after the last video update).

What happens with SC and SC:FA if they do go under? It needs the patches etc from GPGNet (and are always a nightmare to install).

I am itching to reinstall them now. Loved those games! My E6600 used to struggle on 8 player massive maps though!

This really made me feel sorry for him and his employees but I'm still not massively taken in by the concept for the game unfortunately :/

Christ, all he needs to do is a kickstarter project for SC:Forged Alliance 2 and he has got my money... and I'm sure many, many others as well.

It doesn't even need to be a massive update, just a refresh with some general improvements without too much tinkering to the formula.

As long as he promises it will be a true sequel and not the dumbed console crap that was SC2; though I'm still happy he released a demo at least, otherwise I would have been down £35 and really pi$$ed.

I'd rather see another TA :(
Wouldn't we all. Who own the rights is it Activision?

As partly mentioned above he should have really went for another RTS instead of Wildman especially with so much hinging on getting the funding for Wildman.

Well done for posting the interview Neil I wouldn't have seen it otherwise. Keep up the good work.

Even though GPGNet is not running anymore, there's still people playing SC:FA.

Using Tunngle (p2p VPN tool) you basically search for your game, it connects you to a VPN, launch SC:FA go into "Matchmaking" and you can host/join games. Works really well!

You can also use Forged Alliance Forever which is a lobby program that replaced GPGNet. Downloadable from the below site.
