I miss F-22 flight simulator

*Edit* - looking at the other posts in here and the dates (circa 1995), I think it must have been F22 ADF that I'm talking about. Just found a picture of the box and I remember it well!

Ran it with my voodoo2 card at the time and it was awesome. I had an F-something for the Atari ST that I'm probably getting confused about.

Many many years ago, there are many titles

Novalogic F-22
F-22ADF
F-22 Raptor

Do you folks know of any other F-22 flight sim out there still available for sale?

I loved those games. Not exactly accurate simulations, but easy to pick up and good fun. I remember one mission where you had to nuke Iran's chemical weapons plant.....must have played it a million times :)

I seem to remember a sim called TAW (total air war) that was based on the F22
I could be wrong though as my brain is pretty much addled :D

Yes, TAW was a follow-on of F-22 that added a dynamic campaign and Airbourne Fighter Controller to the game. They then did the highly underrated Wargasm which was an early battlefield style game, got great reviews but didn't sell well. DiD also tried branching into the military simulation but that fell flat.
Shame, they were really talented designers and the pc world misses them quite a bit.

F/A-18 Interceptor for the Amiga

I remember having real trouble landing on the carrier in that game, then when I finally managed it I didn't know what to do (I think you had to shut down the engines to complete it) and so just escaped to end the mission, which meant that it didn't get recognised as completed :(

Yeah, I remember that carrier landing being a right PITA too. Wasn't it something to do with lowering the hook that caught the braking doohickies at just the right time or something?

Who remembers falcon?

Oh yeah! That was another one from my Amiga days! Man, I sank so many hours into flight sims between the ages of about 12 and 15...

Was that Amiga also? If so, yes I'm pretty sure I had that (along with another F-16 sim that I can't remember the name of).

I think this was the other one I was thinking of, which I seem to remember preferring to Falcon.

I think you could just lower the hook at the same time as the landing gear, but I just kept crashing into the side of the carrier or missing completely :D

B17 Flying Fortress was my favourite Amiga flight simulator, it's more strategic than action though.

PC remake was nice too:

Have some good memories on the Amiga limping home with a half dead crew and on 1 engine only to cockup the landing. :o

One of my all time favourites this! Tried to get the PC version working on W7 64bit a few weeks back but it would just CTD before loading a mission :(

Nice post. I recall it was a flight sim many years ago that got me into pc gaming- f29 retaliator by DID design. This was about 1995 I think. The graphics and whole concept just blew me away.
Don't know of any current f22 sims no. I don't seem to have the patience anymore to play flight sims properly :(

Yeah i had it on the amiga.. brilliant game

Nice trip down memory lane this, I cut my teeth on F-19 and Gunship on the Amiga. It's amazing the atmosphere these games had considering the limited visuals - although at the time they seemed incredible.

Anyone remember F-14 Fleet Defender? This was the first sim I had on PC and was blown away by the interactive wingmen and carrier ops.

Spent hours and hours playing DID's Total Air War...fantastic sim. But my favourite Sim ever is this...Janes Longbow 2

F22 Raptor 2 taught me how to touch type at a very young age. Kept on getting killed looking for the keys, but eventually got it right!

I think me and my dad slowly upgraded the joystick from a cheap, medium then expensive one just for that game!
