I'm looking for hard mat made out of metal, plastic or even glass.
Glide is the most important for me, currently using my desk as mousepad. I have qck+ and roccat sense but they have bad glide, its more of a control kind of type.

MOUSE: Logitech g400

My budget 20 pounds would be the limt.

Steelseries I-2 rebranded Icemat.

Glass pad, not sure if theres better now but it used to be the best pad for glide.

Using the 4HD (9HD just the bigger version). But if you don't like the QcK+ and wants something with pure glide, I'm afraid you'll have to go with glass or aluminium.

Also been recommended, Zowie g-tf, func archetype 1030, and artisan mouse pads. Not cheap.

Well, I still love my 4HD. It's got good glide, and good control. It doesn't have the 'static friction' effect that I hate on soft pads. Will probably feel very similar to a naked desk surface.

The S&S apparently is similar, apparently smoother. Complains on the S&S is that it slides around on some surfaces. But really, I can't fault my 4HD.

Whatever you do, avoid the Roccat Sota. Horrible, and will start to deform a month in.

I know, have a roccat sense which is used combined with ikari laseer in multimedia system. Terriable mousepad...
Currently using qck but it has too much control.

You could try and find a Razer Exactmat for your budget. I had it for a long time and has both control and speed sides but the control side isn't THAT grippy so it's probably perfect. Vespula is the more modern version I think

My advice would be to bin the hard mat and get a cloth mat tbh....I've never looked back.....

I'm sure the Razer Sphex got good reviews too maybe worth a look.

DON'T GET S&S for glide.

Its got a grainy texture, its not grippy exactly but the mouse doesn't glide freely over it.

Exactmat is nice and glidey, I think the vespula is hard plastic so its not an upgraded exactmat.

Qpad CT get great reviews, any one used it before? If it is similiar to roccat sense than, I'm not buying it since the roccat is very annoying...
