update motherboard+graphics

Hi Im not sure if this can be done, Im no expert. But i've got a desktop pc thats hardly been used i was wondering if i could upgrade it to play the latest games.
spec:
phenom 4650 quadcore
4gb ram
built in graphics card
500gb harddrive
500w supply
motherboard that cant have a graphics card inserted.

could i upgrade the motherboard(50quid ish) and buy a 100quid ish graphics card. so i can play the latest games? if so what motherboard and graphics card should i buy?obviously cheaper is better

question is: is my processor and the rest good enough?

was thinking it would be a shame having to buy a 600quid pc when i could upgrade the one i got to do the same job for now.

any help would be great! i know its a little ambitious but thought its worth an ask.

yeye i like that build mate! motherboard looks real good for the price. but i'll need a graphics card to.

You don't.

The A10 has a MONSTER of a built in GPU.. Will play most games on Med/high..

BF3 runs well on Med and Skyrim well on high.

so what sort of games is this amd build capable of playing? can it play rome total war shogun 2/rome total war 2?

ok mate cheers i think ill go with the kit that was suggested by linwelin and the same/similar cpu u sed.

will this kit run shogun 2/ rome total war 2 on med/high spec?

Should do, Yes.. Not sure how demanding the total war games are but im pretty sure If it can handle BF3 on med/high i won't struggle to much with anything else..
