anyone used either for a htpc type build and can comment on quality looks?

i'll be ordering the other bits and bobs over the next couple of days. not sure whether to get a mech HDD or stick in a 128 ssd.

one other question, win7 or 8?!

Prefer the less shiny look of the first one mate. Havent used/seen either in the flesh though.

My mate used the t1 in his first ever build and loved it. Its obvoisly norlt great fir cable management or support for big cards/coolers. It is pretty small and it HDD mounting system is quite awesome.

Whether you get a mech HDD or not depends on what your using the pc for, will it be storing films/games or just playing/streaming them. Got a big game collection?

Personally id go for windows 8 as it seems Ito have a layout that suit a htpc

bearing in mind the board was free and the cpu and psu were bought at a reasonable price from the MM i think it's a pretty good value media pc for the living room.

any thoughts or anything blindingly obvious that's wrong?

apologies gents, should have mentioned ram i got's plenty off. I know the trinity set ups like the faster stuff but i've 3 sets of 2x2gb 1600 ddr3 knocking about already that i just need to use up on something.

optical drives again, i could nearly start selling them to OcUK myself!!
