Anyone got fibre broadband with plusnet?

Contract ended with BT in December and I'm planning on moving away from them as they are too expensive... currently have 37Mbit download speed and line rental... costs just under 50 quid.

I've checked and plusnet offer 76Mbit broadband and if I take line rental (which I obviously need) the broadband is £9.99 a month for 6 months then back to the full price of £19.99 after 6 months. Line rental is £13.99 per month so a bit of a saving compared with BT.

I know that BT offer 76Mbit download speeds in my area but to get that, I need to renew the contract and what's the point anyway as they are too expensive.

So, is anyone with plusnet? If so, what is your service/product like?

Get Virgin.

I paid £120 up front for line rental, then £7.50 for 6 months then £15 for 6.

I get 32Mbit.

Heck of a lot cheaper.

Just connected with plusnet fibre today. Paid the line rental up front for a year, and then got the deal as OP.

Connected at 67Mbit DL, ~ 18Mbit UL.

I thought my Be connection at 19Mbit was fast lol.

As for service though mind, lets hope nothing goes wrong with mine. I thought the installer wasn't showing up so tried to call customer services...waited around 50 minutes (around 1pm this afternoon) before I got through to anybody only to be then told that I will have to wait for the entire day as they cannot chase installers until the days over.

I will hold judgement until I need customer services next, but not good first impressions.

Just gone over to PN Fibre, not bad for a rural connection! :)

I went to Plusnet 76Mbps Fibre back in October and it's been great. My speed was only 3Mbps at best with O2.
The offer was different back then although sounds slightly better now. I got 3 months for £5 then 9 months for £20.
Line rental I just paid upfront for the year as it was cheaper.

But 4 months using the service and internet has never went off once. Speed has been very consistent and stopped getting kicked from online servers for causing problems with my crappy connection.
So all in all it seems great.

I had waited so many years to get this and feel I made the right choice.

From what i've gathered from various forums, it seems the general opinion is that BT/Plusnet's fibre is more reliable that Virgin, especially during peak hours. But this is most likely because BT's fibre network is pretty new, and currently doesn't have as many customers as Virgin yet

I signed up for plusnet a week ago and my install date is the 18th, i also got the £90 cashback from quidco

I've just transferred my Line and 5mb Broadband :o from Sky to Plusnet Fibre Unlimited, speed estimated during ordering was 68mb, now it is said to be 67 then 66mb.

BT have been booked for 22/2/13 :D - confirmed via text which is a nice touch...

Done the Topcashback thing for my £80.80 which has tracked, now the confirmation is a waiting game, I'm more of a Quidco Man myself, so how long will TCB take to confirm payment?

i believe plusnet is a 2month wait for cashback!! quidco didnt track my order but ill do a manual claim in 30 days!

I got a text saying i am active from the 19th, install date is 18th.
plusnet have told me this is fine and normal!
cant wait! lets just hope openreach turn up.

2 months is ok as long as it confirms, it'll help pay my advance payment of line rental :p

Have Openreach got form for not turning up to schedule?

Only dealt with them once, last year on a pre arranged booking which Sky ordered, fella turned up...

If you read a lot of forum posts bt/sky/talktalk the openreach engineer are good and not making there time slots

All I know is 22/2/13 1-6pm lets see what happens.

Also I'm hoping downtime is at a minimum on the transition of Sky LLU to Pnet Fibre...

Are my estimated speeds likely to be as they say or can they be higher?

I forgot to add, when I requested my MAC Code from Sky to switch to Plusnet Fibre, I was informed I don't need one as I am on the Sky LLU.

Is this correct? I do not wish for hiccups at a later stage...
