Hello folks,
I know a lot of the inhabitants of this forum (me included) enjoy a good argument, and there's a lot of milage to be had discussing the failings of console vs PC, digital distribution vs. disc based games; why a sequel disappointed you, why the big publishers are ruining franchises and the like, but I decided it was time we have a thread that's all about the GOOD things in gaming.
So here's my topic - tell me about a game, a level, a character, or something to do with gaming that was better than expected, and made you laugh/cry/giggle/gasp or whatever.
Spoiler tags as appropriate, please.
My first thoughts:
It's an obvious one, but it still leaves a lasting impression (and I've avoided replaying it to make sure it stays that way) - going to work as Gordon Freeman for the first time in Half Life. It just completely reset my expectations of story-telling in a game that wasn't a Lucasarts point-and-click.
