HMV Finally closing down for good?

They had, as a few examples of films i want:
The Dicatator triple play Blu ray priced at £22.99....
I watched this film on sky demand this afternoon :o and you really no want pay anything for that crap film

HMV should be paying you to take it off there shelfs...:p

Loughborough closing. :(

nowhere to buy a CD anymore apart from the supermarket, sod that would rather give Amazon my money.

id expect there to be at least one independent store around loughborough, especially being a uni town.

Wow I think that is every Edinburgh store shut down. Even the iconic one on the West end of princes street. Not surprised as the rent costs are probably astronomical. The St James centre store was a horrible small space but was always rammed full of people.

the rates for the one in rochdale (a bombsite of a northern town) are £880 per sqmeter. the store is probably nudging 100 sq meters in size so £88k a year on rates alone, let alone rents which will probably somewhere near that as well. no wonder high streets are dying off.

You'd think so, but nothing springs to mind for me. Personally I tend to go to Leicester if I want anything anyway, and this is probably the same mentality as most, hence the closure.

Didn't know you lived in Camberley, I'm Aldershot way ^^

But yea, Camberley is really becoming gash now.

Aye, local enough to there anyway. It's almost like the town has been forgotten, the local Councillors don't seem to know the arses from their elbows. The borough council just sits and watches as the town empties, confident that someone wants to pay the extortionate rates.

The only reason to go into town now is to grab a bite to eat, or go to the cinema. The latter being a rarity due to cost at Vue.

I hear Aldershot is getting a make over a la Farnborough style though? Not seen it myself, but definitely long over due.

Camberley will probably get it's make over in 2-3 years when they pedestrianise the high street, least the empty shop fronts will look a little prettier. :D

Off the top of my head i cant think of a single one and ive been here 4 years. If there is they really need to advertise themselves better

Just heard they are closing my local HMV down in Bexleyheath :(

Surprised really as that's the only place in Bexleyheath for that sort of thing.

I'd wager their reasoning for closing stores has nothing to do with them being in a good position for trade. More likely to do with overheads, performance, size of store and general town demographics.

Yeah, I'd have thought at least the princes st one would stay. The two in Glasgow are at opposite ends of Buchanan St. The big one is in the old Zavvi/Virgin store. Boo!

Gutted the big one in Edinburgh is going. That was an immense shop!

My local one in Kirkcaldy is shutting down too. No impulse buys for me!
