do above first, if it doesn't work make sure your drivers are upto date, if it still doesn't work, then try this,

h88p://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/magazine/dd637756.aspx

scandisk with the fix command /f

can you see it in another pc, as if you can format it and make a partition on that and then try it on your's

Hi,

How do i update a hardrive driver. this i have never done!
under Device Manager the disc isn't there?. i can only find it by doing the above in the first post! also not sure how to scan the drive if i can't find it under Computer!

P.s, this is going to be a 2nd drive, as my primary is a SSD drive!

Cheers :)

Edit!! i tried all Sata ports on the board, no luck! then i notice another sata port vertical, so tried that and worked :) but i wish to have it on the other ports.
So why would the other ports not be working?

Cheers :)

are you running the latest mb bios? and using intel rapid storage drivers?

Hi,

The driver i have for that are Intel Rapid Storage Technology iata cd 11.7.0.101..
What are the difference compared to the ones you sent me ?

I use DriverGenius to update my drivers.
As for bios update, i just noticed there is an update! which i'll try now :)

Cheers.

Edit. that driver you sent failed to install!
The setup program failed to install one or more device drivers
Setup will exit!
