To get the feeling this game gives you, you are going to have to go back to older games IMO, think final fantasy if you ain't played them. Nothing this gen I've played so far gives anywhere near the same feeling.

Persona 4 is one of the best jrpg's around, different battle system, more like final, but it's the characters and story you play a persona game for. You could buy the ps2 version and emulate it if you have a pc, that's what I do.

Dont let the demo put u off, the full game teaches u the battle system over time and makes that fight a lot easier when u know what to do! Odd demo really
Well I just finished the Story, the last boss is pretty tough to say the least! I'm going to try and clear some of the post-story stuff now but will be interrupted by Dead Space 3 which I'll be getting.
I've only got Final Fantasy XIII to compare this too really (apart from a couple of things on the Xbox). I loved the combat and story however interestingly a friend of mine who has this says he's not finding it that good, reckons it has repetitive combat and not a great story.. he's only got to the desert bit though but says there are better JRPG's on this platform.. I'm not sure which ones he's referring to but based on this whatever is better must be really good so my expectations are high

There isn't anything better JRPG wise this gen, Not that I know of anyway. He has only just begun though. You need to go back to anything X or before to get a nice feeling FF. They are on sale on psn atm, V VI VII VIII IX. VII and VIII are defo worth a look, you won't have the shiny graphics but the battle system and story is easily as good and better in parts. I've just gone over lvl 50 with Oliver and am about 40hrs in, trying to concentrate on bounty hunts and errands till I run out, then do some story to unlock some more. Got 4 more stamp power up things left to get.

Xenoblade Chronicles for the Wii and Tales of Vesperia on 360 are well worth a look. You may also like Lost Odyssey.
i was gonna say, i didn't have a clue what i was doing haha.
seemed like a good game though. ordered it from shopto last night as it said they had stock still at 5pm.

Ni No Kuni also gives me feelings of WindWaker however I don't count WW as an RPG; I would classify the Zelda games as adventure games, but genres mesh anyway.....
And Blue Dragon.
I thought that was a pretty good RPG of this gen.
I've got my boat. Difficulty seems to have spiked a fair amount now. Trying to save regularly so I don't have to back track too much!

throwing people in at the deep-end is a sure fire way to put them off buying the game

Yea man seemed silly butbi suppose its a hard game to go a demo for, may have done better without one! Not to say its not doing well as it clearly is
i was reading some reviews online last night, am i correct in saying, you can capture and tame any creature in the world like a pokemon!?
