Aliens: Colonial Marines

Hmm, They've put distinguishing colours on the motion tracker? I'm sure they said the xenos are blue? Not sure I like that, Half the creepiness behind the tracker was not knowing if it was friendly, alien or inanimate.

Still I dont think it looks too bad.

You know, I think they have missed a trick here! How much suspense is there when you see the motion tracker going nuts, so you go all tactical, making your way to the location very slowly, examining everything closely, in fear something bad is going to happen... turns out to be nothing to worry about in the end. Human, rat, something like that. But your heart was pounding with the fear.

Enemies shown on motion tracker? Wow, what a stupid choice!

I've got this pre-ordered. I KNOW I wil enjoy it for the SP. Might even enjoy some MP, but it will be short lived. Now, I could cancel my pre-order right now and wait for it to be really, really cheap (and that won't take long at all!), but then I will probably miss out on the MP. The way I see it, this game is hyped to hell (I AM looking forward to it), but it's one of those games that people want right now, just to play it once or twice, then becomes a very distant memory. Which historically means it will be dirt cheap within weeks!

But....... it's ALIENS!!!!!!!!!! :D:D:D

There is a difference in the icons on the tracker, it's annoying but still has the classic sound to go with it.

Pulse rifle ftw.

I wouldn't say horrible, the first level and second level played out prety generic for a horror FPS game, you can easy compare it to the first level for Doom 3 for example.

The CGI wasn't what you expect in 2013, that and the graphics seem poor, but that's okay, don't care that much.

The Alien and enemy Human forces AI seem pretty dumb to me. Pulse Rifle only had 40 rounds per mag while the flim had 99 rounds per mag, guess they reduced that for balance, but even then they could had reduced the total pool of ammo you carried.

I loved how the menu and sounds kept true to the flim. Music score was good, the story is okay.

I think the gameplay wise for Coop, Escape mode and the 4vs4 mode (Think that's escape mode?) should be good.

I don't think it's worth more then £20, so for the DLC's and stuff, am not going to pay full price, that be a Steam sale job.

But don't mind paying £20 for it on release day.
 
I dont think it looks bad at all. Graphics are probably not up to the standard of some modern games. But thats not too problematic. I couldn't watch all that video though lol. Who ever was in control was annoying me

Far from it - I think Alien fans might be the ones to take the greatest offense at any missed opportunities.

Have not played it (obviously) but everything I have seen or heard has not been good and then the GamesTM review pretty much confirmed it.

Was stung buying the latest AvP game on release and paying £30 for it. Not gonna happen again. If I ever pick this up it will be from the bargain bin within the bargain bin.... in a bargain store.
 
Couldn't care less what it looks like, that's the job of the graphics whore forum above us, but it sounds like they have screwed up the atmosphere and game play and that's unforgivable for this type of game :(
 
According to my mate who's got a review copy of the Wii U version, the GFX are superior to the PC version (lol's) assuming all the youtube vid's are people running on max settings.

But yeah, the game still sucks either way.
 
Orders the ce version and tbh I had low expections so I doubt ill be disappointed plus all the vids I've seen look like what I expected ill post my thoughts later
 
I got my copy, gave the mp a little go and it's quite poor. Graphics are very average and being the alien is pants. You constantly get hammered by the Marines, and the aliens attacks are quite weak and it takes some effort to get 1 marine down. You can level up your alien/marine, I'm sure when you eventually get higher up you will be able to put a marine down easier but at the minute its a damn pain. Also this was on escape mode, I never tried tdm or the others.
