Nvidia’s F2P in-game cash bundle

Spend £200+ on a card

Receive £16 in game currency for game/s that you might not have an interest in anyway?

AMD's offering is much better.

Kind of fail from Nvidia this, I mean who is gonna be up for free in games credit for F2P titles when you buy an Nvidia card? AMD cards are less expensive than the Nvidia equivalents and they give you the latest titles for free, stop being so cheap Nvidia!

Well spotted that man.:)

AMD must be biting into sales, while it's good to see Nvidia responding, got to agree with Ace, AMD has the killer deal again with their offerings.

Now all we need is for Nvidia to be more kind on pricing so greg can get back to his Maria Von Trapp routine, his face has been tripping for months, anything to get back into that dress and get up that hill...

:D

LOL this is so funny!

Really Nvidia? F2P currency?

The reason the AMD bundle is good is because you can sell the codes if you dont like them, whos gonna buy ingame cash :\ this is what ruined Diablo 3!

In game curreny is for bad players who need an advantage over others.

This just goes to show how greedy Nvidia are tbh, I got borderlands 2 and AC3 with my 660 which was a good deal, but this is pathetic.

Must agree it seems a bit tight fisted of NVidia, I can see how it might be appealing to some but heck if you buy a 680 690 or a titan and get handed a few ingame credits mmm not happy at that prospect :(

My guess is nvidia don't really care as they probably still lead the market share for mid-high range GPU's as some people still refuse to game on AMD graphics cards as they believe drivers are still a problem (silly I know but you can't change some people's minds once they've had a bad experience). Overall AMD has better market share because of it's low end chips.

Nvidia in Germany recently offered 5000 gold for World of Tanks when you bought a new video card. Thats now expired so its been tried elsewhere first.

Thats £16.95 in real money. This deal is better. A bit.

a friend of mine plays at least 2 out of 3 of those games anyway and is about to buy a 670... so he's not going to sniff at free stuff!

If that's what your into, it's sure to appeal, two of them have a simply massive fanbase, however:

A truly epic deal and limited to the first 50 cards sold from today:-

Thats well over £100 worth of the latest games FREE! :D

Higher markup for AMD perchance?

Can't see this bundle winning over many buyers. AMD's bundle, pricing and performance per £ is a tough one to beat at the moment and the green team need to try harder unless they wish to be accused of resting on their laurels

There's good and bad here, if we look beyond the fanboyism:

Are NVIDIA greedy? Silly them for wanting to make money...they are a business. They have invested heavily in a ground up build with Kepler, Cloud, GeForce Experience and Sheild. NOT FORGETTING the EPIC tier one titles over the last 12 months: Assassin's Creed 3, Batman Arkham City, BF3. HARDLY indicitative of a company too tight to spend money. AMD still have the same tech they had 2 years ago with a few speed bumps.

On AMD's side, Their bundle is, in my opinion, FAR stronger in this case for the reasons mentioned earlier in the thread.
They are cheaper because they are dropping prices on old tech to claw back market share (NVIDIA at approx 70%) and they are buying share with bundles like this. This is costing them money:
http://www.bit-tech.net/news/hardware/2013/01/23/amd-losses/1

On the flip side for AMD, they have a GPU in the original Wii, a GPU in the Wii U and its reported that the new Xbox '720' and Playstation '4' will be powered by whats basically an AMD Fusion CPU/GPU set up.

Looks clear to me where AMD are spending (NEW R & D).

Tight fisted is how nVidia roll.

My guess is nvidia don't really care as they probably still lead the market share for mid-high range GPU's as some people still refuse to game on AMD graphics cards as they believe drivers are still a problem (silly I know but you can't change some people's minds once they've had a bad experience). Well anyone who really thinks AMD are the ones with the driver issues, either hasn't been in to computers for very long, and relies on uninformed people to tell them about the past, or is some sort of shill *cough*nVidia focus group*cough* because in the realworld, if you actually go back and look through driver mishaps, nVidia come out on top every time for the worst incidents.

And we are off again.

Good link Neil thanks and I do like the look of Hawken. Not sure how this F2P works (or what it is)?

i don't understand how nvidia thought this could help. this is a really cheap bundle both in terms of value and in terms of what it's trying to emulate. why bother giving that stuff away when it's going to a. not contribute to sales, b. cost them (albeit a small amount), and c. make people laugh right in their face? not to insult those games but a little bit of ingame currency in kind-of-well-known f2p games in response to 6 triple a titles is unbelievable... yeah. in your face amd!
