Anyone here on this forum use one of these cases?
If so how do you find them in terms of performance and what was your experience in terms of getting the case over here into the UK?
What components are you using?
Any tips and advice?

I know there is a competition on another forum for one of these cases but i am seeking out users opinions on this case (SM8).

Thanks

Your best off heading over to Overclock.net as Caselabs themselves have a forum section there.

I'd love a SM8 personally just justifying the cost getting it here - shame Overclockers don't import a bunch as there does seem to be a healthy demand for them in Europe.

You know, the cost is still making me umm and arrr a bit but i think once you have it its a case for life.
I will head on over there, thanks for that.

I had a sth10 last year :)

Cost was £660 all in which included import tax, search for my threads.

I planned to watercool the nuts out of it and had planned for 6 radiators in it,4xquad rads and 2 triple rads.

Shipping was in 6 days YES 6 days,i had a few parts that i wanted a different colour and i ordered it on a friday and the following thursday it was here.

But something came over me and i really couldnt be bothered to watercool any more,so i sold it to biffa on these forums.

You are right though,it is a case for life,if i was ever going to watercool again it would be a caselabs case.

£660
Im looking at the Merlin SM8, that $379, plus with the few bits that i need takes the case alone to about $430. Shipping is $120, then you have the duty on top of that, so it can add up.
Its the case for life aspect which im looking at right now. Im sure if in the future pc form factor changed then caselabs would just produce the neccessary component and you could replace it.
As for what i need, i think a 480 and a 360 will more than be enough for what i need.
Im also mulling over the Corsair 900d but....hmmm i dunno.

I came very close to ordering one last year (went for the 800d instead) as the cost was looking at £500 plus for the m8 once shipping and import tax had been paid.

The support is excellent and the cases are a work of art imo. Definately a case for life. If I had the money I would get the m8, but I have been very impressed with the 800d and you mentioned the 900d which looks to be an improvement on the 800 so would love to know what you think if you do get that!Either way, Caselabs or Corsair you will be very happy!

One of the things the 900D has against it is its sheer size. I mean it is humongous. The Caselabs SM8, is IMO, a small 'full tower', small enough for you to put on your desk anyway and get away with it looking ok. You could not do that with the 900D, i dont think so anyway. So do you save a bit of moolah and get a huge case that you would need to find its own postcode lol or splash out a bit and have a 'reasonable' full tower on your desktop. Its a toughie lol.

The sth10 is over 3 feet tall ! The 900d is nice but the caselabs case's are amazing but do come with a premium but worth it over anything that's available in the uk.

Yeah the 800d is big enough, the 900d is massive. But isnt bigger better? ;)

Anyway that was why the M8 and SM8 i loved- plenty of size but in a different dimension to the 'tower' cases of corsair. Mind you the sth10 as mentioned is massive aswell.

Guess it comes down to price and how much you want to spend. If money is no option....Caselabs. If you want a big, high quality case from a well known brand Corsair or even Coolermaster Cosmos II. IMO :)

Well, the money isnt a issue, its justifying that much on case which is the issue.
I mean when you add it all up your looking at £550-600 ish for a splendid case no doubt, case for life. But then you can can also spend less than half that and get cases IMO which would do the job as well but will be limited slightly by future WC upgradability possibly.
Its a tough one, need to make a decision soon :D
