Funny thing is that NASA is saying that the "meteorite" will pass close to earth 11.25 PST which as I understand in next 6 hours?? So was this thing a tiny piece and the real deal is yet to come?

This meteorite was travelling at 600km/h and weighed 1kg... in case someone wishes to use their physics knowledge.

It was spotted on a weather satellite just as it entered our atmosphere. Check out http://www.eumetsat.int/Home/index.htm

The window shattering explosions seemed to be what I originally thought, merely a sonic boom. Which would make sense since the actual meteorite ended up in a lake.

It seems that the Russian meteorite came from the direction of the asteroid belt, which I belieive is the opposite direction to the approach of the 'near miss' asteriod slated to arrive later today. Unlikely that it's part of the same body.
