Car Dealers - Atrocious Service!

Don't get me started...

This car dealer managed to get my details out of me. Now he will NOT stop harrassing us! To the point where I've called my mobile network to ask them to block his number... they can't.

Today after 10 missed calls from this douchebag, I picked up the phone and he started pressuring me again... I told him to please not call us again as we will call him when we've made a decision. The conversation then lead on like this:

"Please don't call us, we'll call you. We understand we can have a car from your showroom within 2 weeks, but it's a 4 month wait for the car with all the options we really want, so we need to think about it."

"Well what options do you want on the car sir?"

"All of them"

"Which ones would those be sir?"

"err... ALL of them. Fully Loaded."

"Which ones would those be sir?"

"er- you want me to read off all the 25 specs from the VW website to you? We want all of them! I don't remember off-hand."

"Which ones would you want sir?"

"Don't you know them?!"

"Yes I do. Which ones would you want sir?

"All of them!"

"Which ones would those be sir?"

"[sigh].. ok, please wait while I load up volkswagen.co.uk .... [I start reading off all the options to him, patiently]..."

[he gets bored quickly and interrupts me] "ok sir, well there's a 4 month wait for cars from the factory anyway."

"Yes I know! You were just asking me which options we want installed."

"Just when you decide let me know."

Surely the correct response would be to tell him due to his harassment you will be taking your business elsewhere (and if it's a main dealer completing to vw)

This ^^ and make certain his manager knows why you have done so.

It was always the case where they would need to sell so many cars in a certain space of time in order to get an additional bonus. Maybe that's why he is pushing for the sale even though you have said you already want the car.

Either way he wouldn't see a penny of my hard earned.

Another dealer gave me completely incorrect specs of the car and when I challenged him, he hung up on me... reported him to his manager and he was totally uninterested, apparently their staff can do no wrong. He then proceeded to try to sell me the car!
