*** The Official FIFA 13 Thread ***

Here is my current BPL squad and I've got around 280k coins left - can anyone spec me a fun to use La Liga team (ideally in the same 41212 formation) so I can alternate between the two and create a hybrid, within that budget??

From my experience, you won't get much fun using La Liga in 4-1-2-1-2. My German/Bundes hybrid, and my Ligue 1 teams performed so much better than my La Liga 4-1-2-1-2. A Bundesliga team would be a lot cheaper as well, you'd have change left over from 100k without a doubt.

You could go:

------------ Diego Lopez ---------------
Joao Perreira - Pepe - Mascherano - Alba/Marcelo
--------- Xabi Alonso/Song -------------
- Di Maria ------------------- Iniesta/Villa/IF Guardado
---------- Kaka/Modric/Fabregas --------
----Falcao/IF Soldado --- Benzema -----

Thanks, I'll have a look to see how much this might cost!

IF Walcott :p Does he actually feel quick this year? Last year all his IFs were utterly dreadful.

I love him tbh! Bizarrely though it's not his pace that makes the difference imo - it's actually his shot power!?!? I've scored some real screamers with him so shooting 77 doesn't do him justice at all!

I did have a Bundesliga side but without Robben and/or Ribery, it didn't seem that great! (mind you, I guess the same can be said about La Liga without Ronnie & Messi!)

What Bundesliga side can you put together for sub-100k??

This one will set you back around 45k if you're on the Xbox - http://www.futhead.com/fifa/squads/77618/

The keeper, despite only being rated 82, has consistently been awesome for me. The defence is solid, Martinez is a great CDM (and will pop up with the odd goal from time to time), Schurrle and Sam are great wingers who can cut inside and unleash shots from distance, while Gotze is a great creative player. With Reus and Podolski up front you've got pace, dribbling, finishing and long shots from both of them. All round it's a really solid team :)

LOL enjoy Div 1 - youre in for a shock ;)

ps3ud0

Indeed,

Having been in Division 1 since the first week I was finding it fairly easy to stay up and won just once in something like 30+ attempts. Now I'm getting relegated each season and coming straight back up with 6 wins as champ in Division 2 only to come straight back down again!!1

Think this has happened 3 times now, I actually quite like Division 2, wish I could stay there but I don't want to lose either. Division 1 is just sweaty at the moment and idiots who play keep ball once they've scored.

Anyone know why the market has gone mental recently price wise? When I was initially saving up for Ronaldo, he was roughly 1.3m, now he's not going for less than 1.5m. I bought Ribery for 498k, now he's listed at pretty much 600k. Everyone seems to be so much more expensive than a week or two ago.

Most people think its half term week so the demand is a lot more. Even contracts are going for 700 coins for the rare card. I found Division 1 very difficult also, most of them are sweaty and only ever use lob balls. Likewise i have only won it once and often struggle to stay in or get relegated and come straight back up.

However, my Italian team now is rock solid and so the games are more competitive against all sweaty teams. Using 4-3-3 the passing is often the key to breaking down the opponent with Cavani finishing off the chance. The opponent once 1-0 down will just continually spam the R1 button or lob ball and i often can get a 2nd goal quite easily. However, the key is not to concede the first goal.

Bit of a long post.

My custom tactics for those interested:

Start up "general" play (I use this normally for about the first 10-20mins of the game to see what sort of player I am up against, unless I score like 4 goals in that time then I just stick with it)

Build up play
Speed - 50 - Balanced
Passing - 33 - Short (borderline mixed)
Positioning - Organised
Chance Creation
Passing - 50 - Normal
Crossing - 40 - Normal
Shooting - 60 - Normal
Positioning - Organised
Defense
Pressure - 30 - Deep
Aggression - 30 - Contain
Team width - 45 - Normal
Defender line - Cover (Offside trap just seems completely pointless)

Wide game play

Build up play
Speed - 80 - Fast
Passing - 65 - Mixed
Positioning - Organised
Chance Creation
Passing - 65 - Normal (borderline Risky)
Crossing - 60 - Normal (borderline lots)
Shooting - 80 - Lots
Positioning - Organised
Defense
Pressure - 30 - Deep
Aggression - 50 - Press
Team width - 80 - Wide
Defender line - Cover

Narrow game play

Build up play
Speed - 70 - Fast
Passing - 65 - Mixed
Positioning - Organised
Chance Creation
Passing - 60 - Normal
Crossing - 30 - Little
Shooting - 100 - Lots
Positioning - Organised
Defense
Pressure - 30 - Deep
Aggression - 50 - Press
Team width - 25 - Narrow
Defender line - Cover

Possible to build a cheap decent 4-3-2-1 squad from any league?

Looking to spend 25k tops.
Perhaps consider RPL though you might be able to do cheap BPL for that

Kone
Gervinho - Johnson
Fellani - Cazorla - Tiote
Richardson - Mbia - Kaboul - Walker
Cesar

Should be doable though maybe not with Cazorla

EDIT: Anyone want to recommend me 3 CMs for 4321 out of: SIF Inler, IF Guarin, IF Vidal, IF Marchisio, Nocerino or Boateng?

This is my current favourite squad
Cost me around 9k
Stekelenberg
Zabalette Burdisso Pareja Ansaldi
Gonzalez Banega Costa
Palacio Lopez Gomez

All argentinians except the goalkeeper
You could probably swap in Lavezzi and Milito for Gomez and Lopez and still be under 25k
The midfield are all great passers of the ball and Pareja is superb at setting up counters with his 84 long passing

Winner, Sounds good to me. Will buy it later this evening and see how I get on the next few days.

Could anyone do the same but for a 5-2-2-1 team? Again, any league and 25k.

Yeah, a SIF ST Reus would be beastly between Robben and Ribery.

Has anyone built a team around a tall target man rather than the sweaty forwards we normally all use? I was just thinking that most of the quicker CBs that most people use are fairly small compared to the bigger but slower CBs. Rather than trying to outpace them, I was wondering whether getting a tall target man (or two) and using proper wingers to get loads of crosses in the box would pay off or not.

I gave IF Kenwyne a bash until his low Att annoyed me. Beast str stats though. Mario Gomez seems to be underatted. If ur going for a big target man though make sure he has plenty of strength. IF Kenwyne is 94 str and he's a beast, bulldozers through challenges.

Ps3 for 4-3-2-1 has to be IF Vidal Lcm, pirlo Cm, IF guarin/zanneti rcm
