Oscar Pistorius thread

The statement read out said he went and locked the door. Maybe the statement was read incorrectly.

Why was the key to the toilet on the outside?

According to the affidavit, he broke a door panel with the cricket bat, saw the key, took it and opened the bathroom door..

if the police have dropped the ball so early in the precedings, makes you wonder how they will have any credibility when it finally does reach trial

Wow doesnt this magistrate get tired of talking?? lol...on and on and on he keeps going.

Its a long judgement for a bail hearing thats for sure.

As the Magistrate has just pointed out though, Botha was the first Senior Officer on the scene, so his statement was important. He went on to say that they have far better state expert investigators working on it, and its important they should do. Given that they also appointed the top South African investigator yesterday, its clear that they are handling it that way.

I don't think the chap talking (and boy, can he talk :o) buys his story either. It's clearly nonsense.

Indeed:p...from what i just heard a few mins ago, he ripped the defence apart saying they havent got a strong case against the prosecution or something along those lines.

Could go any way now ie either he gets bail or doesnt.

He never was a flight risk, he's an international star that can easily be spotted by any number of people and being a double amputee makes it even easier to distinguish him from someone else.

His income is not massive, sure its more than a majority here but 5.6m rand is around £400,000 and that income would vanish should he skip the country and attempt to hide.
