Can anyone identify this bird?

I just came home to my girlfriend saying that an eagle was flying around the local gardens, I replied it was probably just a pigeon... but she took a couple of photos and I can confirm its not a pigeon...

My neighbor is a bee expert and also has confirmed its not a queen wasp.

What is it?

It's definitely a brown and white bird, it's got no strings attached and it's not red.

Looks like a red kite, they were reintroduced to Norn Iron a few years ago, population here seemed to be increasing in the conservation areas.

There are many of them about these days, thanks to conservation or whatnot. I have two that include my house in their hunting territory - huge birds.

As already said, its a Red Kite, especially if you live in Herts, there are loads where my parents live as the population seems to have boomed since the reintroduction.

Red Kites are swarming Oxfordshire, my parents frequently have 3-4 circling near their home.

I saw a lot of these up near Leeds airport, ******* massive things that look like they could snatch babys.

It's quite interesting in Spring as you will see mother crows attacking them to fend them away from their nests

Red Kites are all like "uuuurgh go away crow!!! :eek:
