I did some research and ended up using the sleepyti.me website to work out sleep cycles. I now go to bed at 10:45 to wake up at 6:30 each day for work and feel fine with it. Well it did feel a lot better for a while, but now I get woken up by my step dad leaving for work around 5 or the kittens being excitable after that. Its rare I get the proper cycles any more :(

6-8 here. Unless its a saturday/sunday morning... then it ranges because my body likes to troll me and wake me up at 7am!

Went to bed last night at just before 11, and got up just after 9 this morning. So 10 plus hours or more a lot of the time.

On average 10 plus, and on the odd day about 7 to 8 hours I find.

The reason I sleep for so long is down to chronic health issues.

Lately I haven't got enough hours in the day to get things done so I'm tending to work later and later at night/into the early morning. So for about the past 6 months probably about 5 hours a night max, if that.

Aim for 8 years, any less and it starts effecting my productivity & performance, sleep is important, I have found I need less than when i was younger, but I think thats partly down to a solid routine.

Weird thing, I often find myself waking half way through the night about 2ish, apparently it was quite common up to about 200years ago for people to have two sleeps at night, with a short break inbetween, this mid-break in sleep also apparently increases the amount of REM sleep experienced, which is what contributes to a 'well-rested' feeling!

5-6 maybe if I'm very lucky 7 @ night.

Although I can & do occasionally have a nap in the early evening. :o

IMO age does have a big effect on this, & I'm now the wrong side of being past what was  the retiring age.

3/4.

Up at 5 every morning, calling time at night runs till 1/1.30 am when the day is done.

The early bird is easy, paper round as kid, still working for the man 30 years later.

on average though ?

i do 4 hours most nights but by the weekend it catches up with me and i end up doing a 10 hours snoozeathon

At a guess I would say I get 7/8 hours sleep, however that is very rarely uninterrupted nowadays and as such I feel rubbish. It also seems that no matter how much sleep I get, being woken by an alarm of any sort is horrible.

The best nights sleep I have ever had from memory was following on from an all-nighter where I slept from 9:30pm and woke up by myself at 6:30am feeling great so went downstairs and cleaned the kitchen (I was living in student accommodation at the time).
