wolvers, can you do me a favour? can you replicate my settings here, stand in the same place and take a screen shot with MSI AB running, i want to see what FPS and GPU usage your getting.

Please? thanks :)

How far into the main game is that Humbug?
If it's not too far i'll do a comparison between 7970 (same clocks as Wolvers) against a 3770k.

I've not bothered to start this game up yet, so hopefully not too far.

Level 3 "The Root Of All Evil" its not far, but if your just stating it might take you a little while to get there.

The 8350 is meant to perform well in Crysis 3. Better than the 3570k.

Generally it does, but at that point the CPU usage is very low which makes me think there's some effects going on that needs a CPU with better IPC. Dunno tbh, maybe just clutching at straws.

Can I go back without loosing my later saves?

Can you check it at the start, like I did earlier?

This is how far i got, going back did not delete my progress, but clicking on continue will take me back to level 3 as i quit there last

But you can get back to your last level by going "replay missions" you will just end up back at the beginning of that level, so if you saved halfway through the level you will loose that.

After quiting in your progress after that, it will continue from there again.

I can replicate that later tonite, long after TopGear :D

It would help if you used MSI AB so we can see what your GPU is doing.

PS: Imageshack is really bad, slow loading... Photobucket is much better ;)

Yeah i installed the newest beta drivers so have to unlock MSI AB, too lazy :D
So been using a moddded Trixx for overclocking instead (i get higher clocks thanks to more voltage :D :D)

my 7950 windforce x3 is oc to 1200mhz and has no problems with heat or power but at random the game will lock up and crash to desktop
not so annoying single player but during multiplayer matches its annoying no idea whats causing it

Just knock 50-100 mhz off that overclock to make it stable again. As has been said Crysis 3 is more demanding and previous reliable overclocks will not hold up.

Those screenshots are not at the start of level 3

Why cant you quick save like in Crysis 1? Checkpoints are the most annoying thing ever

No it's not at the start of level 3 :rolleyes:, and I had to clear out some baddies to get Humbug's screenshot;

I don't mind though, love this game.

Tonesters results seem to back up what I thought about that first level and my CPU.

What voltage can you get with Trixx?

I finally got the game since it's now dropped to £27.99 on Origin. It is sooo amazing visualy! Hard to play it though as you just end up wondering off to look at the fab scenary :D.

Seems to run well on just 1 GTX680 and a i7, mostly 60 FPS @ 1080P all on very high with FXAA.

From what I have read and experienced on my machine regarding performance generally - If you have a half decent CPU, i5, i7 or newer at about 3.5ghz + and at least a 7950 or GTX 670 then you can play with good FPS with all very high 1080p and one of the smaller AA options

1440p / 1600p requires to drop a few settings, such as object detail and shadows to achieve the same fps. (or of course get another graphics card and SLI / Crossfire)

These settings will get you 45fps+ with 60/70 most of the time. Multiplayer will 60 fps+ mostly

I had to download NVIDIA GeForce Experience to find out what settings would work for me

This is what the program advised to use. I disabled Motion blur though as I hate it for FPS.

Too bad my monitor doesn't do 60hz refresh rate as I could have set it to that and upped some eye candy with Vsync.

The game is now atleast playable. I have 670 sli 1280/1880, 3570 at 4.6. Near the start of the game just before you're handed the bow if you look at the area through the window the frames drop down to 20fps If I use the better AA methods. However apart from that bit and going out into rain environments the game played fine maxed out.

Also this is a good site to read to see the comparisons between all the AA settings and benches.
