UEFA Champions League/Europa League 5/6/7 March *** Spoilers ***

Can I ask a question of the united fans:

If this was Liverpool what would your honest reaction be?

Purely hypothetical really as It's hard to picture Liverpool playing against RM unless of course Los Blancos have such a massive fall from grace really. Tough Question.....Keep em coming

Not sure what to make of the red to be honest.
There's one angle that looks pretty bad as even after the initial contact you can see almost like a secondary jerk from Nani (as if he's felt the contact and is then kicking out) - but in realtime at that speed I think you'd be hard pushed to prove or even credibly claim it was that intentional it could have just been his premeditated movements expecting to receive the ball.

I think as GS said you can see why the ref might send him off as anytime a player catches a flying kick that high off the ground it is always a possibility. Ultimately it was dangerous but you could probably see the same action result in a yellow in another game.

Last chance, Stewy

I have no problem with a bit of banter from regulars (I do it on occasion) it's when the people that aren't in here unless they're trolling do it. That's when the mods should be stepping in.

You're generally very level headed, except when Liverpool are involved, then you act like a giant whopper :p

You can still get your hands on the CL Loki, pop along to Anfield and have you picture taken with 5 of them :p

You leave Sandy10 out of this, he's got a bad enough ride being a Villa fan as it is !!!

Yeah Yeah bore off you

I don't think the match was fixed but I did think Mourinho's reaction was very interesting as was Ronaldo's. Ronaldo didn't really celebrate at all. And Mourinho was quite clearly not happy and didn't look happy all match. It was interesting how he immediately go RM to sit right back after the one goal. It was a poor decision on his behalf and has been overlooked because yes Ronaldo got the goal but RM then went from tearing Man Utd apart to placing themselves willing on the backfoot and under threat.

I think it is a stretch to say the ref was bribed. I can see why he made the decision and given time I don't think he would have made it the way he did. But he has to judge on what he saw and it did look nasty. With the benefit of replays it's quite clearly the wrong decision as he is not challenging for the ball merely trying to bring it under control.

I would be aggrieved if I were a Man Utd fan however I am not and saw an interesting game which in my eyes demonstrated Utd as the best team. However, RM arguably had a good goal disallowed and there were a few penalty appeals that warranted a second look to confirm good decisions by the referee.

Being totally honest, I don't think Utd will have necessarily won it this year even if they made it to the final, and I don't think RM will (unless they are lucky again). I think a german team will win it this year. German football seems to be going through a good spell at the moment, and looks as though it is going from strength to strength and will likely continue next year.

You're asking to be beaten with the title stick now.

Personally, I thought it was a yellow card and a harsh red.

I also, moving on from the 'talking point' as Sky / ITV / BBC would call it, I think Fergie is partly to blame for not changing things straight away from the red card, his substitution came what? 20 minutes after? When you get a player sent off in a game this important to your European title hunt you need to change things straight away to ensure your survival.
