Whats a safe temp? under 70c? or under 80c?

(when i pressed quit on unigine i got a high pitched noise until the program closed)

What about this 3Dmark thing? Is that a viable alternative?
Im not 100% sure, im pretty new to overclocking GPUs myself as you can probably see from all my questions in this thread lol
70c is fine, try to keep it below 75c. Once you get to a certain core speed you will see artifacts if the card gets too hot. It varies for every card. Once i get to around 1225 i need to keep my card below 70c.
That high pitched noise is nothing to worry about, i get that as well.
Unigine 4.0 to test core. 3DMark 2011 for memory. Intensive Directx11 games for the final stability test. Crysis 3, Farcry 3, Battlefield 3, Sleeping Dogs etc.

I'm going to follow 'the procedure' (as I'm going to refer to the guide in the first post from now on) for the MSI 7950 Twin Frozr Boost I've just ordered, as soon as it arrives.
I was just wondering if anyone knows whether it'd be a good idea to update the cards bios pre- 'the procedure'. Also, you can't just download the bios from MSI you have to use their live updater tool thingy which also handles MSI drivers and afterburner and such but I want to use 'the procedure' not their stupid tool.
Is it possible to get latest MSI 7950 bios for my card version any other way, and is it worth bothering with?

Haha procedure. I like to call it 'the routine', although that does kind of make it sound like a dance off.
Don't bother I think that refers to motherboard bios rather than gpu. I've tried it many times, it just doesn't work. Leave the stock bios alone would be my advice.

Maybe you should consider an Accelero for your 7950. I know you said you wanted a quiet card, well you'd have a hard time finding a quieter and more efficient gpu cooler than an Accelero. Excluding water of course.
Anybody know why voltage isn't unlocking for my 7870 LE? Works fine in Sapphire Trixx

I've had a Twin Frozr before (5770 Hawk) and I was quite happy with the noise levels. It's going to be practically silent compared the the reference 6950 hoover I've currently got anyway!

Furry muff its not a bad cooler but if you want silence then there's only one way to go.
What were the temps when it happened? Maybe you need to add a tad more voltage or keep the card cooler. Failing that dial the core back in 20mhz and try again.
What clock settings and voltage were you using?
