Poll: HTC One vs BB Z10 vs Iphone 5

Just a quick a poll.

All other things being equal such as contracts, payment plans etc but not price obviously. What is the phone you'd go for?

HTC One
HTC One S
BB Z10
Iphone 5
Iphone 5 S

For what purpose? Too vague a question.

It's like asking "Which is better, a BMW X5, a Porsche 911 or a Ford Transit". ;)

All round general use, anything an average smartphone user would use.

e.g. Phone, SMS, Internet, Music, Videos, Apps etc
 
Non of the above except may be the One.

Though it's only the One or the incredibly valuable ip5s I'd get now, the BB z10 is the only one that intrigues me at the mo, the first 2 being unobtainable.
 
Well considering the iPhone 5S doesn't exist it's pretty hard to say...

Out of the current ones...

1. HTC One
2. iPhone 5

... very large gap ...

3. BB Z10
4. One S

This kind of thing is preference though, you may find the iPhone preferable to the One and vice versa. Try them.
 
Wait for the GS 4 and then choose.

But out of those currently, comes down to preference, I wouldn't go for the blackberry or iphone 5 personally. But that comes down to the OS you want.

I most certainly would not say that there was a very large gap between the iphone 5 and one S though. Aside from the screen (which comes down to personal preference, bigger+SAMOLED VS smaller, sharper display), battery life, it isn't that much, if any better and a lot of it comes down to preference i.e. design, software.

Other phones that I would be looking at if you don't mind not having the latest and best:

- GS 3 LTE
- one X+ or preferably one XL
- motorola razr HD
- nexus 4

If I was to choose now and money wasn't an option (presuming the GS 4 is what we are all expecting i.e. just a spec bump with new software features and same old design), I would go for HTC one, if I didn't mind getting the latest great phone, then probably the one XL...

He asked what ones we would choose, that large gap implies I don't want one, not that I think there's a big hardware difference or it's bad!

I got the impression this is very much an 'opinion' based thread, not that he's asking which is best.

It's a bit odd though why he put in an iPhone 5S (something that isn't real yet) and not the S4 though. :p
 
I don't really use apps so I just need something with a decent web browser, which leaves my choice wide open :p

I was looking at a Lumia 920 but couldn't easily get hold of one while they were locked to EE. Now I'm waiting to see what the Galaxy S 4 will be like.

Personally I feel I could get a long well with any of the following:

Lumia 920
HTC One (not actually played with one but on paper it looks good for my needs)
BlackBerry Z10
Galaxy S 4 (currently have an S2 so this should be a logical upgrade)
iPhone 5

I've really enjoyed playing with WP8 and BB10 so I'm favouring one of those handsets. Had an Android handset for quite a while so I think I'd like a change, guess it depends how I feel about the HTC One and the Galaxy S 4 though.
 
Having played with the BB Z10 and iPhone 5 and the GS3 I'll have to take the Blackberry Z10.

Hardware wise it is slightly inferior. However the operating system is miles ahead of anything I've played with.
 
Probably any Android for native Google maps. Or maybe a new Nokia. Hardware is all the same to me these days, any changes won't impact my user experience or gain real world benefits. (maybe the Note and stylus combo?)
 
Blackberry Z10 without a doubt, best phone ive owned and thats me coming from a GS3 and an iphone4 in the past.

One thing the Z10 proves is that its not all about hardware specs;), its the user interface which i find after a week of owning still amazing. Sure theres a bit of lag in the settings menu that i find but thats due to the fact that the settings was made with adobe air...which doesnt make any sense but hopefully future updates will fix that bit of lag.

Compared to my GS3 which was rooted and now is at stock, the Z10 absolutely flies. Finding my GS3 lags quite a bit, probably due to touchwiz being a stinking pile of crap.

Only thing that is lacking with the Z10 i find is the apps but every day more apps are coming out and the apps i cant get on the Z10, i can just sideload the android version to my Z10. So really im not missing any apps that much.

But all in all the Z10 is the one i would pick each and every time and thats nothing to do with me being a Blackberry fanboi:p. Android no longer interests me in the slightest although having played with the new HTC One i do like it but purely from looks wise. Dont get me wrong, its a nice phone hardware wise but its HTC sadly and i wont ever touch another HTC phone.

As for the iphone5??, seen it, played with one and i find it fugly as hell, its not a very nice phone to hold in the hand compared to the Z10 or even the GS3...unless you have it in a case. But more importantly its probably the most boring OS i have come across. Apps wise its head and shoulders above everything else although Android is pretty close. But seeing as im not a huge app whore, it doesnt interest me in the slightest.
