The Dolby light comes on but there is nothing coming out of the rears. Visual and audio quality is terrible though...

Exactly this, for some bizarre reason the 360 often insists on outputting 2.0 audio in 5.1 format, which means your average AV receiver can't mimic a 5.1 signal by sending some of the sound to the rear speakers. The only option you get is to send a stereo signal to all speakers, which in my experience just sounds a bit weird.

The PS3, on the other hand, does it properly.

So if you signed up on 11th Jan, 30 day trial, then 30days after trial ends. You shouldn't be expecting them so soon. Maybe around 10th March, give or take?

I signed up for this via Quidco for £10 cash back. You can't cancel the service, only turn off auto renew. Also be aware that even if you turn off auto renew that if you start a movie by accident you automatically get billed for another month. From what I've read anyway.

I don't know how they expect people to pay for this when non of the movies are in HD and look crap on anything other than a phone.
