Hello members.

Today the lovely post lady, made a house call an delivered me the following:
Samsung 250GB 840 SSD.
Corsair (2x 4GB) 1067MHz DDR3.

To upgrade my 17" Mac Book Pro (Late 2009)
Now I intend too open her shortly an install the latest hardware,
But as per title do Macs get firmware upgrades, to improve the Logic Boards capabilities.
- I intend to upgrade the SSD's Firmware, an know the Logic Board is only Sata2.

Many Thanks Seanoog.

As far as I'm aware they getting BIOS firmware updates every so often. Just updating the SSD firmware should be enough to get the best performance (And enabling TRIM).

Complete list of firmware updates can be found here: http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1237

Thank you both very much.
Managed to confirm my model numbers exactly. An my MBP is running the latest Firmware.
It does seem idiot profe, if I ever needed to apply an update in the future.

Is it best to buy my Liscense for Mountain Lion now or when Lion is re-installed on the SSD?

Now too find a small star screw driver too open it... :p
