My rims arrived from China yesterday!

I've got them laced up to the hubs already but haven't got any tyres, brake pads or cassette yet.

I'm going to change from a 12-25 105 cassette (which will stay on the old wheels) to an 11-23 Ultegra and was just wondering whether it would be necessary to take any links out of the chain? I hope not as I want to keep the old wheels for training!

You could always follow some YouTube videos for turbo sessions.

Didn't really notice the problem until I started to do some climbing this week. The gears change up on their own and I simply don't have enough strength to keep going in the higher gear. The ratchet on the gear lever is pretty worn which doesn't help. The bike needs a complete rebuild which I'll do over the summer.

thats a bit odd but doesn't sound expensive :)

yeah ill be rebuilding my triban 3 during the summer too, should have covered ~3-4k miles by then so it will be nice giving it a nice clean and replacing some bits that will be really worn by then.

currently i need a new set of tyres, pads and a spare tube.. pump would be nice too my current one was a hell to pump up.

the one i have at home is a lot better but i can't fit a track pump in my backpack ;)

What are your impressions of the quality of the rims?

A new chain and cassette should do the trick.

Managed to do that climb three times today, all it took was eight jelly beans and a roll of insulation tape.

I've got a mini pump and it's almost impossible to get the pressure above 70psi.

Haha jelly beans to the rescue lol. Yeah a new chain, cassette and maybe derailleur as it's covered in surface rust/oxidation from salt on the road.. What rank did you get on strava?

The rear mech is fine, it's only been on the bike for three weeks.

Third, but miles behind the leader.

Still early days, but I'm really starting to enjoy the hills in the area, they're making a real difference to my overall performance on the bike.

Tomorrows 100km route (It's in metres & km not ft)

Nice you should give another go on the lordship run segment :-)
