Before the warpgate rotation + back then with op magriders on every hill top NC pretty much didn't bother with Indar, we focused on Esamir and to a lesser extent Amerish. Now Indar has fairly even pops at all times hence why nobody can cap it.

Well that and whoever gets the crown has all their zerglings congregate there and do nothing to help you taking the rest of the map.

Miller - Indar has always had balanced pop, in-fact if anything VS would always outnumber everyone by 5% most of the day while it took least 10-15%+ over their pop for TR to take it.

I do agree the Crown is the problem, everyone mingles their way there and the zergs just die where if they avoided it or took it then moved on, could take the rest of the map.

Anyway, am looking forward to my stealth flash, I hope stealth doesn't take up the radar slot as that and stealth would be awesome, can't wait to sneak up on people and tear in them with my GL or maybe the new Renegade Shotgun for it, add a second seat to the back with a Heavy or Engie dropping AT mines and shooting rockets off and Flash squads will be fun. :D
 
The patch: I suspect a hot fix or two will be coming very soon.

I came online about 8 o'clock last night, much later than usual for an inter-outfit op. Just as I joined the op was being ended, due to exceptionally bad frame rates during any sort of battle. Even with a lot of people having left, the entire squad was getting the 'flashing bug' (scenery disappearing) and freezes at the same time.

I didn't get a chance to use any of the new equipment, but I noticed that A LOT of people were in the new VR training facility.
 
The new patch as I expected is POS, it's GU2 again.

Players are reporting 50% FPS lost with i5/i7's and I have lost 10-15 FPS myself and I was only getting 30-35 in mid size battles, large battles I have to avoid since it dumps to 10FPS when am in the thick of it or I have to stay on the edges.

Anyway, it's crap.

On top of that, they have broken tank turrets, NC are reporting the same with their Vans and Lightnings suffer this too.


This happens about 60% of the time, so sometimes you get a few decent shots off then it does this recoil/auto-aim-adjust and you have to wait or the second shot will fire into the ground.

VR is awesome through, tested a lot of new weapons out and love it, one of my favourite things is flying a Mossy through the main building over peoples heads. xD

After a hour or two in VR, I have decided to buy a few more weapons soon, I want the new AV turret, TMG-50 and the Walker for my Prowler which has a awesome DPS against EFS's.

But it's not big enough, there is not enough targets enemy flying vehicles should be in the sky not on the ground. On top of that, Radar does not work in there so you can't test that out. I read that Magriders are super OP'ed again where they can climb 90" angles and fly in the sky.

The new XP system is awesome through, going to make certs like mad now when I return to the game. The new map layout and instant action looks like poo to me, prefer the old look.

The Air towers have alted again, vehicles drive out out of a small room and not through the main bay of the building, so you can't get runned over anymore. They also added a other room where the Teleporter is placed which has shields, thus making it a small spawn room. Don't think I will have a problem with that.

I need to test it more, but I think ESF's "shudder" at low speed, making aiming really offputting. Ground vehicles can have TH now instead of being forced to use NV.

C4 despawning after the player dies is awesome, also the Devs/Higby has tweeted that the long-over-due AT-mine nerf was meant to be included in this patch, but due to a few problems, it's been delayed for the next patch, like I have always said, the way AT-mines have been used in this game is wrong and wasn't what the Devs intended, in their own words "Mines are meant to explode when a vehicle drives over them"

@ItsThatITGuy nah, we don't want mines to go away with death. We want them to only detonate when driven over and be disarmable by engys.

About god damn time.

I have just seen that you can now CLOAK ESF's, Libs and whatever else now.

a hover tank that hovers who'd beleive it, its not as good as it used to be but some people do still spend allot of time working out ways to jump a magrider into an impossible place (theres a couple in my outfit who only do this)

Mags arent OP they die very fast and always have, most mobile but most squishy MBT.

One on one heaad to head where you cant flank or out turn a prowler or a vanguard then your going to die, even if a prowler is packing HEAT (which most of them seem to) you still lose some times.

Im guesssing all the complaints are back because the prowlers got a little nerf.

Im hoping the test server they are bringing out will stop some of this boost/nerf cycle bull**** cause its getting silly.

Anyone whould think they made money by having a gun that was a little "OP" or even thought to be by the general pop.

To be fair, I'd rather they did it this way by pushing out updates and worrying about fixing it up later. If they chose to properly QA these patches then that 6 months roadmap would become a 2 year one and you'd still have a few of the features cut.

Look at something like Diablo 3... a couple of patches over the course of a year which amount to 1-2 new features and a bunch of balance tweaks. But you wait 2-3 months for a patch because they QA the **** out of it.
 
I'm inclined to agree. I'd be raging if I had a monthly sub or had paid out for a box, but this gets updates out quickly, and (usually) fixed quickly too.
 
I have a monthly sub and im not raging, I am however inclined to think that some of the patches need a week on a test server before they are pushed, then we can all play GU2.1 rather than having a week or so of GU2 and tanks not shooting bullets and some of the other spectacular bugs that have made i though "QA"
 
Totally unplayable for me since latest patch, fight at the crown was dropping to 10fps on my GTX 680 and it wasn't exactly the biggest battle I've fought there either.
 
There has been a server hotfix to try to fix some of the FPS issues.

I and my outfit tested the cloaked Liberator and it works really easy, we managed to get 3 clocked Liberators flying (works best if the inf is the main gunner since this allows him to control when to fire and when to cloak) and fly around in Indar around Crossing Station and the Amp Station, cloaking and firing on targets, whenever we get someone locked on to us, we would cloak and that would lose it.

Manged to fly into a few ESF's and kill them instantly without them knowing what hit them.

Works best at night time as the day time allows the stealth effect to shine the most, but it still catches players out.

We couldn't get it to work on the other vehicles, it would cloak it for a second then decloak again.

Our Teamspeak server was barrels of laughs from this. lol
 
Cloaked lib? Bug? Just watched the vid on it :-( That's gonna be abused to hell :-( Quick fix inbound with luck!!!

39MB patch last night, seems to have improved the FPS. Maybe not quite back to where it was, but not far of it.

I haven't see any cloaked libs yet..... (Oxymoron? lol).. no seriously.. I haven't seen any :-D

I'm glad about the AT mine change, as it was just daft because they were effectively being used as C4, which just isn't the purpose for them and was making sunderers ridiculously easy to take out/keep alive. (not to mention we would drop a whole team of engies on a tank zerg and kill pretty much all of them in around 5 seconds which is just plain stupid.)

What is wrong with these developers? After game update 3 I had to reinstall windows to get rid of the stuttering and it ran smoothly for a few weeks until a few days ago when they released game update 4 and now even with the hotfix I am getting 22-25 fps in fights with my spec, where I would be getting 50-60 all the time.

How on earth do they expect to compete with beautifully optimized games like battlefield 3/4 when they can't even stop degrading the performance? I swear they must the dumbest programmers on earth. Playing Planetside 2 is more stressful than my full time job.

Had to be tested so we could write a bug report, do you think these bugs and other crap are fixed themselves without player imput?

I don't have a powerful computer compered to others, just a Q6600 system but this patch has hurt my FPS pretty bad when flying. Add all the bugs and problems with the game, it's just very disappointing.

The double XP weekend is just to keep players happy while they try to fix all the bugs that the last patch bought, can't complain about that much since am earning certs at an insane speed, made 700 on Friday in about 4 hours.

.. and of course you can say this based upon your vast experiences of developing games and aren't just continuously raging at every little bug or change are you?

Sure I've had less fps since the patch, I think most people have, they're working on it. Is it nice? no, but I'm not about to start raging about it, it will be fixed. Go and (try to) play Sim City if you want to see a disaster zone worth raging over.
