Happy Saint Patrick's Day

Thanks but no thanks OP. I'm from England, but I once went to a U2 concert 20 odd years ago but i dont think that counts as being Irish ...

Hate St Patrick's Day. Just an excuse for idiots to wear green and get ****ed on Guinness. Plus I imagine most people who go out and 'celebrate' it have no idea who he was or what he did.

I'll be staying firmly put here.

Indeed. Especially including all those Americans who are 'Irish'
Ahh yes, the ones who have a great great great grandmother who had a cousin who owned a slave who had a master who married a woman who knew someone who had been to Ireland for a holiday.

Surely potatoes are more traditionally Irish than Guinness, people should wear green and eat spuds today instead of get rissoled on the black stuff.

Don't see the issue in celebrating it, regardless of nationality. If you're one of those who whinge about St George's Day not being celebrated: celebrate it. Kill a dragon or something.

It's a good fun day, except on a sunday that's silly.

Plenty of great memories of uni from paddys days but clearly can't be doing it this year.
