Hang Over Cures?

I really don't see how this is any of your business to be honest? He is hung over big deal.

I still can't understand why you felt the need to say he lives at home etc and gets paid more than you?

This. And posting photo's is just wrong.

OP stop whining.

Its my business when we are a team of 3 and he is sat there complaining and not doing his work cause he is hung over or running to the loo's every 20 mins to throw up

That is also why him getting paid more than me stings cause he still comes into work in an unfit state to do its expected work load and he does this cause he has nothing better to do with his money - it pee's me off when we are the same age and I have worked for this company for 5 years more than him and he has no respect for his job, is colleagues or the business.

His pictures were on with his - eventual - consent.

I tell you what...when the both of you have to work with someone who is hung over 2 out of 5 working days a week, have to cover for him and do his work as well as your own AND get paid less then maybe you will understand

Are you his boss? If not it's not your problem and if you really worried then report him. And yes to me it really seems that he gets paid more is the main reason for you hating him.

No I don't hate him - he is on of my mates at work - but I don't think its fair in such a small team that it is okay for one person to come into work, in a condition which is seen as unfit to work, at least twice a week and he gets paid more

Hell, I have told him this to his face. The office manager and his PA know all about it and agree that if this company wasn't to relaxed and informal then he would have been hauled out regarding his attendance and condition well before now.

But the fact that there is only 3 of us doing the work which would normally take 6-8 people and he still thinks its okay to roll up into work 2 hours late and still drunk/ asleep I think is real disrespectful

Believe what you want 'teaboy5', like I said in my last post, when you have to do this for a colleague every working week, then maybe you will get it - otherwise butt out

if it were just the occasional (read less than once a month) completely unproductive day then i'd just let it slide.
But if it's a weekly occurrence i'm on OPs side that it's unfair. Maybe posting it online is a bit out, but it's a way to vent. It is his business because it affects him.

It's very simple, don't get fall down drunk before a work day. Only 21 and i can manage to be responsible with drinking and work, despite the stereotypes, why can't he?

And this is my point. He is 29 years old, with a degree (unrelated to job but to point out that he has had/done his student days) in a full time job and he cant seem to not drink on a school night

He was on holiday for 2 weeks after this thread started, but he had at least 2 days last week in a similar condition and we are only on Monday of this week

Edit: Anyway I have a 1-2-1 meeting with our new department manager this afternoon so I might mention that I don't think its very fair

Whilst being sympathetic may not be the easiest thing to do right now, please do bear in mind that he may be having difficulty with something and this behaviour is a symptom and not a concious choice.

It's all too easy to be annoyed by this, but please understand he might just need some help.

I will be honest, I didnt think about that...I just thought he was being a bit of a immature ****.

Dunno what to do now. It has been happening and going on for a little too long now to keep ignoring it, plus if he needs help then it might be the time to act now rather than later?

Edit: As previously stated, he is a work friend - he had even house and cat sat for us when we went away last year...

I don't buy it, but it is plausible, so get him to confess his woes and make your judgement call. If you get no joy, as far as your chat with the big(ger) cheese goes, tell them that you are concerned for his welfare and why.

You can't really say nothing now that the spectre of a more serious underlying issue has been raised. 'Do nothing' is not the solution for either eventuality.

I've had a handful of hangovers - most unpleasant. Food either makes or breaks you.

However during the night drinking lots of water and popping aspirin before bed is also a good idea.

A lot of individuals want to know what the best way to treat a hangover is. There are many methods to get rid of a hangover, but there is only a few methods to get quit the agonizing frustration and other signs that come with being hung over.
Following things are helpful

1) Drink More Water
2) Cold Shower
3) Drink Juices
4) Milk products Thistle
5) ** Removed - no medical advice **

If I'm really bad then I'll have a high 5 4:1 endurance. The protein really helps on the occasions you're so hung over the smell of a fry up makes you gag.

Usually I just ignore my hang overs. Generally the blast on the bike to work will blow enough of it out of me that I'll be able to run things once I get to work.

It does sound like the op's mate has a bit of a problem. I'd be checking if he's okay in all other aspects of his life before dobbing him into the company.
