Hey guys,

I'm having trouble installing my asus 7950 top v2.

I have put the card in correctly and have the hdmi in but I'm getting no display, the pc is booting up but nothing on screen.

I tried updating to latest bios and have had the card out and back in 5 or 6 times but still no picture.

I have tried an older graphics card in the same slot and it worked straight away so I know the slot is ok.
Also I have tried the new graphics card in an old rig and it boots up just fine so I know the card is ok.

But why is my card not working in my pc :(

I only ever use hdmi cables so haven't got any other cables to test.

But I can confirm the card is definitely working fine via hdmi in my old phenom rig.

Make sure card is in slot. You couldv'e also had a bad bios flash on the mobo. Could be a number of things.

It should work weather your update bios on card or not. Could be a compatibility issues with your mobo. It can happen and does happen with some mobo's

Should I try updating the bios on the card?

yeah update to latest bios, doesnt the card come with a display port to hdmi adaptor? try with that

you can also try the long way round as in,boot up without graphic card installed and use onboard graphics set first display as peg or pcie1 #1 save shutdown, install graphic card and boot up

No adapter lol

I tried taking card out and setting it to peg but didn't help.

If any ones interested here exactly what happened.

For what ever reason when my msi z77 gd65 motherboard is combined with a 7950 via hdmi it tries to run all the bios and windows in 640x480.

My tv being new doesn't take 640x480 so it doesn't display the picture.

I just woke up and stuck it on an older screen with same hdmi and it worked straight away and using that I have installed the catalyst so now my screen now comes on when pc reaches windows.

So not really sure if it's the cards fault or my motherboards fault for using such a stupid resolution but I'm still left with a little problem,

I'm not really sure how to stop my bios running in 640x480?
