Is it worth getting one ?

Wanted to ask is it worth getting a Joystick for BF3 when flying choppers n planes ...cos i cant fly them for toffee using the keyboard and mouse lol....and if it's worth it , what one should I be looking to get please ?, I dont want to spend too much though

not sure about bf3, but i used a joystick for flying in bf2 and it was a lot easier....

i just got a cheapo one, probably around the same price as this

I do have an XBOX Controller for my PC yes...wasnt sure if I could use one of those in BF3 to be honest

Yes Xbox controller works pretty well, i crash into slightly less things using one.

I used to get on really well in BF2 with a joy stick, yet shocking on BF3. I am going to try a Xbox controller.

The pad works great.
Just pick it up whenever you jump into a plane/vehicle

+1 Get one with a wireless kit, then you can pull the battery pack out to turn it off to stop it rumbling over your desk.

As long as its switched on when you launch BF3 it will continue to be recognized after reconnecting it several times a game.

Plus on PC, the pads connection time is around .5 of a second!

İ think the Xbox or ps3 controller is easier on nearly every game, I'm not a big fan of keyboard and mouse gaming

I've got one of them ps3 pads which isn't Sony and it came with a USB for wireless support, any ideas if it will work with my pc ?

I have an old Sidewinder 2 force feedback joystick that I use for flying jets, it works ok and feels much better than using a pad.

Helicopters I find are better flown using K&M.

Completely agree with the Xbox Pad and keyboard combo, otherwise the hatred from crashing a helicopter begins!

Yeah, what ever you choose find an empty sever and spend 10 - 20 mins practicing flying both jets and helicopters around, and learn the buttons for your countermeasures.

It will save on some of the abuse when a tree jumps up at you!

ive not played bf3 but is it really that hard to control a helicopter ?

Choppers a bit awkward.

As said, use a 360 pad, cheap and will give you better control. Takes a bit to get used to.

well for me personally i find it quite awkward to control / fly a heli and a jet too lol

Should do, it may just pick it up as a bluetooth dongle and show the control connected
