Bioshock 3 - Infinite

I'd say it really shouldn't be doing that, I have an i5 3570k @ 4.4, gigabyte ga-z77-3dh, 8gb (2x4gb) kingston 1600, sapphire hd7850 2gb oc edition and haven't had any stuttering at all, I'm not very far into it yet but I've came across some action and had no problems.

I've also found that if I have it in fullscreen, instead of fullscreen windowed (what I play with), I have the same problem, but it is even more constant, so much so that I have around 30fps all the time! It's unplayable in fullscreen, and in windowed it's choppy. It's a real shame, as I want to play it so much, but I simply can't enjoy it like this.

I'm running basically the same set up as you except with a 7950 and having no FPS issues at all, at least nothing noticeable beyond the occasional stutter when it loads stuff.

Anyone any tips on how to deal with this stupid banshee thing? I'm trying to target only the banshee but it doesn't seem to have any effect, do I need to do something first before attacking it?

It makes you wonder if the protagonist of Bioshock and Andrew Ryan were the same person. I don't think they were, the moral of the game was that 'nature' finds a way to have a man, a city and a lighthouse. Those events were forced by the twins in Infinite, that doesn't mean that the same laws apply in Rapture.

I agree, I see no reason to beleive that the Booker/Comstock link extends beyond their own timelines and even that is due to people screwing with them.

Jack is Ryans son, he was "matured" in the space of about 2 years by Suchong and Tenenbaum, there is nothing to suggest otherwise.

I just shocked it and opened up on it's head with my Carbine with +crit damage. Didn't have any trouble with it.

I certainly didn't have to do anything before I could kill it.

One thing I am happy about is that I manged to make it through a whole game without a single QTE...a rare occurrence these days! It is especially gratifying as there were many, many places in the game where I would expect there to be one in lesser games.

Also, an aspect I only picked up on later was the combinations of vicors. I can;t remember it being demonstrated at any point really?...however, late in the game, I got the combo of shock jockey-posession going to good effect.

There are only 8 and I only ever used 2 of those regularly, Possession/Shock and Possession/Fire.

Undertow/Shock is pretty cool but I never found it to be worth the salt.

Possession, in my opinion, is by far the best Vigor available after being fully upgraded.

All done, this has left me a little affected/ponderous after quitting out of the game, just like a really good film might leave you thinking about it long after seeing it. Just brilliant!

And now for desert, X-Com! :D

I honestly never even thought of combining them until late on. I think the first time I did it was shantytown....and then it was an accident when I shocked a Patriot and then possessed it. After that I was trying them all.

I think my favourite vigor was Charge, especially once upgraded and with some gear that gave a good buff that I can't quite remember atm(something makes you invulnerable after using it, not sure if it was an upgrade or gear). Charge and Undetow work really well with the shotgun, which I was using all through. Shock is definitely the most useful, but I didn't want it to be like the first two games, where I found my self relying on it a bit too much. The only one I didn't use at all was Return To Sender, which I wasn't really sure of it's use tbh.

I won't explain it but let me just say that Return to Sender is amazing in it's effect but the game isn't anywhere near hard enough to justify it's use. Maybe the above hard mode setting will be but who knows.

Just completed this tonight. Probably the best single player experience I've had for that type of game. I'm already looking forward to playing it again, just to see the things I missed first time around and to unlock my remaining achievements. Certainly the best ending to game ever imo.

I read that it cost about $200 million to get this game to market. I can see why after watching the credits go up at the end. I've seen Hollywood blockbusters with less staff lol. Fingers crossed they make another. :D

I think I'm going to play through Bioshock 1 & 2 at some point. Never really been that interested in them until playing this.

These sort of problems are down to optimization of the game with your hardware, we all seem to be having issues at the moment with this game but, its with the "game " not your system. Make sure you have installed the very latest graphics drivers & run no higher than one from Ultra settings . There are a few fixes available on the web under "Bioshock Infinite Fix ".
Nvidia & ATI are working on it . I expect this will all settle down in a few days so be patient.

U run a i5 2500k (a 4.4 GHZ) and a GTX480 and i get ~60 fps on ultra except for near doors! especially locked doors ( that you can pick)! It is very weird. Framerate will tank to 30ish near doors

Definitely go back and play Bioshock 1, it's an awesome game and the twist is just superb. Bioshock 2 however, is not by Irrational and is a bit of a turd so I wouldn't bother.

Yeh, I've got exactly the same setup and get the same issues near doors

Runs great all on ultra except near doors!
