Im looking for a new pc, budget around £850 +- 50, something for gaming, long term, wont have to worry about updating it for a long time , also might do dual monitor but thats for later. I had a look at ADVENT DT2412 Desktop PC and i thought it was a good deal, the specs look good, so i was wondering what i could get for the same price on a custom built pc..

Hello and welcome to the forum :)

The link is classed as a competitor, if can remove before a mod see's and write down the spec of the system.

The linked PC as far as i could tell from the page had no GPU. As a gaming PC it would suck and probably not play current games with onboard graphics.

Also the i7 over the i5 wont give you much advantage over gaming, go custom and spend the money on an i5 with a decent GPU.

Not easy looking at the specs of the PC linked, but it has a 630!

To help deliver stunning images the PC has a dedicated 2 GB NVIDIA® GT 630 graphics which will make a difference to any visual tasks.

ive edited the post, maybe i should post a bit more detail:
Min requirements:
Windows 8, wifi, 8gb ram, i5 processor, graphics card 2gb, storage is there a huge difference of using a ssd as a main and another hard drive for data? silent machine with good cooling system.

If you can add a screen + mouse and keyboard better otherwise i may buy that elsewhere as i want a long term machine

If you buy a system it will come ready built. You may have to install the GPU because if they put it in the system if may get damaged during transit. But thats a dead easy job.

If you buy the parts you get better performance for the money but you have to self build.
