Evening all.
As the title suggests, I am considering purchasing a new car. My current car is a Fiat Punto Active Sport 1.2. Had it nearly 8 years now and it's done 54K.
Don't get me wrong, It's a good little car and hasn't let me down yet in terms of reliability but I want something that is more powerful.
This is where the VXR comes in. I noticed it whilst I was working and decided to pop over to the car lot and have a look. Must admit, It's a head turner and has a very striking colour.
Seems in good condition. No scratches or dents and looks tidy inside. There is however a little cover that is missing on the roof (has screw under it or mounting for a roof rack I believe) but was told they could easily replace that.
I do have some reservations though. Firstly, the VXR has done 71K and is an 06 Reg. It's had one owner and I can't help but feel it's been ragged and now it's had it's use the previous owner has got rid before problems start.
It is worth mentioning that I enquired about it's MOT and was shown the VOSA test sheet and it passed with no advisory's. Full service history too.
I'm not sure if this is a good investment. Yes, I realise stepping up from a 1.2 Punto and getting into one of these will be like going from a Meerkat to a Lion but I am intrigued by it.
I am in the process of getting some insurance quotes as this will obviously be a very important factor that could make or break my decision.
Lastly, I was told that due to the age of my car and the fact it has a relatively low milage, a part ex offer would be positive.
Maybe it's me but I feel that this is typical sales BS as they want my business.
Please give me any advice that you can.
Thanks.
