GB's teen crime commisioner - should she step down?

"She said: "I don't want to be judged on tweets that were written a long time ago, before I found out I had the job."

lol

Immediately and without reservation and for possessing those eyebrows alone.

It doesn't help cement faith in PCCs, already considered by many to be a waste if taxpayers money. It was a hipster experiment destined to fail.

must admit I wasn't aware of these... but it certainly sounds like that

Can imagine the type most attracted to that sort of role too:

having a teenage equivalent is farcical - no doubt some politician believed it would help the police connect with the yoof

If she had been black then this thread wouldn't exist, because we would just assume that all black kids behaved that way. Also, what an awesome idea for the police to try and connect with the black youth and how non racist they must be for doing so.

Fact is, a good chunk of white teenagers are just like her, and if the police want to understand what alienates them then she is as good example as any.
I'm not sure why they picked one person instead of asking many, but then I wouldn't prioritise minor motoring offences over catching actual criminals either.

She's been a silly wee lassie, but everyone's human and makes mistakes - young people tend to make dafter mistakes. Do we really want to live on Daily Mail Island where such mistakes are instantly blown out of proportion and lives suffer as a result?

She's not just any young person though, she's being paid £15k to be a role model for young people. Her behaviour shows her to be unfit for that job

It wasn't a silly mistake. It was a series of tweets that revealed her true character,or at the very least, showed what she was willing to say to impress her peers.

She should not be anywhere near that job. In fact it would be far better if it never existed.

We all make mistakes but certain jobs require a higher standard, and less of a blemished past, and that job is one of them.

She should have been vetted properly and never got the job in the first place. She should go.

Who appointed her?
Madness giving a 17yr old £15K a year for a part time job.
Glad I don't live in the Kent area, waste of council tax.
