Hello everyone!

Just a quick thread as I am in need of advice or recommendation.

Currently planning a second build (last one was 2 years ago and in need of a bit of updating)

I am still a "novice" and I suppose a "noob" to a certain degree! So please learn me the way,

I am looking for a non stock cooler, as im planning a new build from my trusty Antec Twelve Hundred and I am going for a Coolermaster Haf XB (for sizing) my motherboard is a Asus p7p55d and I am using a i5-760...

Any opinions and information welcome! Thanks people :)

loads of options then

k2 mount doom
dh-14
silver arrow

All 3 are very good coolers, all within 1 or 2 degrees of each other, pick the one that suits your build and style you wont go wrong with either personally id be looking at either the k2 or the silver arrow cant stand the look of the dh14

Thanks! :)

would you say it was any more benifical to go with Corsair H series?? if so any inpeticular?

Not unless your willing to fork out for an H80i.

The performance of which is a bit better than the coolers mentioned above.

I have the NH-D14 myself and love it, best £50~ i ever spent (was on offer at the time).

I can't praise Noctua enough. I bought an old UH12 back in 2006, socket 775 back then. 7 years later they were happy to send me out a new bracket set for socket 1155 absolutely free of charge, didn't even have to pay postage. Over it's life it's sat on a e6300 overclocked to 3.15, a Q6600 overclocked to 3.6 and now my 3570k overclocked to 4.2 (currently, only got it yesterday!). It's cooled all three in passive mode in a reasonably ventilated case. Atm the 3570k hits 86C max on p95 blend test with 1.3v pushed through it.

If I had to buy another cooler I would definitely buy Noctua!
