Hello all,

I'm new here, just wanted some advice on a pc i want to build. But before i carry on i have a question. My current pc is a dell xps 420, q6600, 4850.

When i upgraded the grx card on this i was advised to get a better psu and i bought a corsair TX750 but when i installed this i was getting a lot of vibrations and humming.

Now i have replaced this with the original dell 375w psu and theres at least 45/50% noise reduction.

Would it be ideal to keep the corsair psu for new build or buy a silent one?

My budget is £400-450.

I have my mind set on a choice of 2 systems:

i5-2500k
Bitfenix prodigy case
8gb decent ram
a micro atx mobo (no idea which one)
decent grfx
And maybe water cooled (not sure).

Or

i5-3570k
Zalman Z11 plus
Atx mobo
16gb ram
again decent grx

I would also like to mention the sole purpose will be for gaming and web browsing.

Sorry for long first post. ;)

Hi & Welcome to the Forum.

The PSU you have, how old it is? Have you tested it in multiple machines? The warrenty on Corsair products is pretty good so you could always contact them and get it replaced if it's not performing as it should be.

As for a spec, do you have a HDD & ODD as this is the best I can currently do without looking at Grade-b products.

This would give you the basic's for an Intel based m-itx build if you were able to save money in the future for an i5k or even Haswell at some point after June.

Thanks very much for the advice. Is there any point in trying to cost by buying second hand key components?

Also was looking at only intel but the second one looks more appealing.

The secondhand market is a great place to get last gen items at awesome prices.

For the price of the new i3 CPU and mobo you can get a 2500k + Z68 motherboard and a great cooler too..

Well worth a look.

That trinity build is good bit the a10's graphics are no where near the 7850's..
