ARES 2 really worth it?

I've been reading reviews from the web about the ARES 2...

Actually is ARES 2 really worth what it cost?
Comparing it with HD7970 vapor-x 3GB CF, it only runs 10FPS higher than 7970 CF really...
Benching wise... around 200 marks higher in Basic 3D Mark 11...

What else did I miss really..?
 
Its just to full fat 7970's on one board, its never been about value as its a limited edition card might as well gold plate it lol

It does not overclock that well compared to two single cards. It is no match for 2 x HD 7970 Asus Matrix Platinums or MSI Lightnings.

It is also a very big ugly monstrosity that is difficult to fit due to the cooler (try putting 2 in the same PC).

It is maybe a collectors edition but it is also a very bad case of "The Emperor's new clothes".

But to be fair... it is not a collectors edition either...
At least not as crazy as people trying to bid the Engineer Sample of HD7990 off eBay US for 2XXX pounds... and I'm sure the price is still going up LOL:eek:

Its much like the titan. Over priced

and of course the ARES 2 is worth it (although I might change my mind if I don't win the comp to win one)
