My netbook has Kingston SNV425S264GB - which, especially today, is well below average. But to be fair to the beast, it's not let me down and has given the netbook the improvement I wanted from it.

I now want about the same size (64 GB) SSD for a laptop. It doesn't need to be blistering fast or rock solid reliable. Just not be sluggish and improve the speed of the laptop while not failing in 6-12 months time. :p

Can't offer you any suggestions, but I thought it was the low latency of SSD that provided the preceived improvement. And that is uniformal across the brands/models.

Don't know if the higher benchmark SSD's will seem faster as latency and 4K reads haven't really improved much.

You should be able to pick up a Samsung 840 120Gb for around £80 or a Crucial 64Gb for around £60.

Both good but I think the Samsung has about £15 off so might make it the better choice

the crucial 64gb model has very poor performance compared to the larger sizes

I have a corsair force gt 60gb myself and its fast but for the price you can grab a cheap 120gb Samsung 840
