Quite right, however India does seem to have a problem with it at the moment, and this is a particularly horrific case, hence the OP wanting to vent and discuss it on a general discussion forum.

If he said, 'Why are all Indians child molesters?!' then fair enough, that would be bigotted, just saying, 'India has a rape problem that isn't taken seriously by the police', is..saying 'India has a rape problem that isn't taken seriously by the police.

It did sound a bit bigoted, but he said "these people" refer to rapists so I don't see why people need to bring it up.

However on OCUK there is a hell of a lot of generalisation towards ethnic groups so I wouldn't put it past some people to hold that view point especially after growing up reading "The Daily Fail and The Sun"

It's the justice system that is at fault here rather than the locality. If the police force have a reputation of not giving a **** about certain crimes and would rather pay £20 to drop the case, then you're going to have issues.

I've bribed my way out of trouble while backpacking so am all too aware of this.

I don't think you understand the terms bigoted or racist. Yes these things happen in the UK (and the OP actually says "all over the world", maybe you missed that?) but India does seem to have a deeper problem with both the barbarity of the crimes and the attitudes towards them right now.

It is not racist to point this out, in fact it is necesary for anything to change there. He is not saying it is because they are Indian, or that all Indians are racist, just that it happens. Calling racism every time on posts like this trivialises actual racism.

They still have the legal system that we set up in india back in the 19th century :/ the rape laws especially are extremely outdated. Its a very sad situation.

Both incidents:-

Were on “public transport” where victims were duped aboard
Male partner was beaten and tied to a seat and forced to watch
Male partner was struck with iron bars
Young attackers under 16 in each
Took turns raping the women in back of bus
And finally dumped in the road

Where did a say "Indians are animals" Full stop, new sentence “. Absolute animals” In reference to all rapists, or those particular rapists responsible. In fact i clarified this to you as well.
