*** The official HD 7990 review and discussion thread ***

I don't know, clearly AMD have done a lot of work improving the cooling and noise on this card so I think that alone is worth a bit of a premium over two seperate card imo.

A £200 premium though?
AMD dropped the ball on this one, clearly they been visiting the Nvidia school of economics

Such a shame, Love the card, i want one.

But at that price they can jump off a cliff

edit:
I can get the Older 7990 from PowerC for £200 less... Seems i may end up picking up one of those seeing as the perform the same

Ouch £200 more then the unofficial 7990, what are amd playing at?

£200 more for better cosmetics and a dual slot cooler....hahah.

Yep way too expensive for me. Also 7970ghz crossfire still seems to be the fastest solution. Still like the look and noise of the card.

Na, the £200 extra of the official 7990 cost over the unofficial 7990 is because of "inflation" as someone put it

Good to see the improvement on noise but at the price it's a very poor card, just like the 690 and titan, expected better from AMD
At least people that has GTX690 (or the unofficial 7990 even) would had been enjoying using it for quite a while already...

Well that's put a halt to the GCN 2.0 teaser for the official 7990.

Prototype driver looks good, but it's not exactly AMD's 7990 exclusive, so that's a general AMD success.
Toms hardware has the frame times still inferior to SLI though.

Absolutely no way at that price.

Great card and performance. I'll think i'll wait for something a bit more reasonably priced. Just like chess game, Nvidia make your move!

I am sure early adopters will be happy to pay that and after a couple of months, the price should drop to a reasonable figure. Nice card (if ugly) and when the prototype drivers are no longer prototypes, I can see this being a very desirable card.

Look Marine just because you don't understand the economics of it and got out argued doesn't mean you get to brood about it on every thread. Inflation affects the price of everything over time. I don't see what inflation has to do with a £200 price premium of what is already available and I that wasn't implied.

But keep on with that strawman argument and keep on price moaning :D.

Inflation has nothing to do with the 7990 price...
Its AMD trying to what Nvidia previously did.

Low of them tbh, I have shown my upset on the facebook AMD page :P
