OcUK Forum Experts... help needed

Hi guys.

I have a tecknics hifi system, anyway the ribbon cable from my amp unit going to the controller unit I have managed to break! (Well my stupid dog deicded to chew the end of it up!) I have opened up the unit and the end going into the amp is hard wired to the PCB. But the connector to the control unit is not....

Anyway I want to buy a replacement connector and fit.

I have found one but with the ribbon - which is £11 + postage. I don't need the ribbon cable, just the connector head with is easy to disconnect and reconnect.

I'm struggling to find just the connector without the cable - can anyone help me location one online to buy?

The blue part on this image is all that I need..... I dont want to pay £15 for essentially what is a small piece of plastic with metal pins.

here is what the stupid mutt did to it.

I still think he did it in revenge for me taking him to the vets two weeks ago and getting him the snip!

RS Components would be the first place to start, but you'll have to set up an account if you don't have one (unless they've relaxed a bit). Then try Farnell.

RS Components is a mine field, trying to find what I need there is not an easy task.

as its just over a tenner, I don't think you will find cheaper, postage is killing you here.

I would just get it, if I was you

this is a technics part, so I don't believe that a off the shelf replacement will be available

Dirty Jester decided it warranted it. I could post a pic of my dogs swollen, heavily bruised love spuds, from after his op. But to be honest I don't think I should.

If you look very closely at the connector, then you might just be able to spot that it's a little bit damaged.

Mangled just like how I would guess the local heroin addicted hooker's "lady bits" would appear......
