What would the OC gurus suggest as the best 7970 card that is voltage unlocked and is sold by OCUK ?

Many thanks, looking to swap out my 7950 Sapphire for one.

7970 voltage unlocked in stock I think the HIS is, not sure about the VTX, the gigabyte ones are locked.

But why do you want to swap a 7950 for 7970? why don't you add another 7950 for more performance. (if you really need)

I replaced my 7970 for 2x7950.

I have 2x7950 already in my gaming rig for mining. Thinking of moving them to a seperate machine for 24/7 and with some of the proceeds of mining getting a 7970 single simple card without all the heat of 2 cards into my gaming rig.

Currently I have to switch off mining to game and I am missing my gaming. When not gaming, the 7970 can also mine.

Thanks for the replies, looks like the HIS is the only viable one.

Furry muff.

This is the one you want then. Voltage unlocked, decent cooler.

Blimey Ocuk don't have that many 7970's left.

To be honest the stock Gigabyte 7970 runs at 1GHz and a little cheaper. I fitted mine yesterday and it runs BF3 and Project cars at ultra settings with the FPS over 100 most of the time. I don't think the HIS 7970's are unlocked either as I was informed before I bought the Gigabyte :)

Well you can get the cheaper gigabyte 7970 but its voltage locked.

Hm, are you still making enough money off mining to compensate for the increased difficulty and electricity cost? Or are you mining something other than bitcoin?

Mining Litecoins as these are not affected by ASIC machines and are GPU domintated only. Convert them to BTC on an exchange, currently at 0.0287 BTC / LTC

I am probably not making much in real terms with electricity at the moment, but I plan to keep them for a few years in the off hope that they will be worth something decent.

I have a stack of BitCoins too that I will keep.

Call it long term investment, although risky, if it works 100's more profitable than money sat in a bank account.

Thanks everyone for the choices, seems OC has limited options at the moment as far as 7970's are concerned. May go all out on a Sapphire 7990 card :)

Pulled the pin on a Sapphire 7990 :D A couple of months mining on that and the other 2x7950 will pay for 1/2 of it maybe before GPU mining is non profitable and I sell the 2x7950's. All depends really, lol, no real idea what I am talking about, just want new kit and if I pull out of mining after 2 months, pretty much upgraded from a single 7950 to a 7990 give or take £100
