So I am looking to splash out around £1500 but max budget is £2150 for my new build.

Sorry for just typing the names of parts duno how to show so just linked a picture.

I already have a Corsair Enthusiast Series TX 850W V2
https://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=CA-039-CS

and a MSI GTX 680 Lightning also not decided on a case yet I want it to be light and quite sturdy do not want to use my Cosmos S because it is too damn heavy like 35 kilos!

but would it be worth holding off until June for the new Intel CPUs? or go for now.

My current computer specs is
"24 Samsung Monitor
I7 920 OC 3.6
12GB DDR3 800MHZ
GTX 680 (oct last year)
P6T Deluxe V2 Mobo
2 TB HDD SATA-II 3.0Gb/s 16MB Cache
Win 7 64bit

I am a computer gamer and spend most of my time doing that especially with Rome 2 Total War in future and Arma 3.

Arma 3 for me on my current pc even though I have a GTX 680 has low fps around 20 when others have been getting 38+ but because they have a new generation cpu since it is power hungry in cpu power.

Any suggestions would be much appreciated.

Edited - Realized had 2 "29 monitors in the basket to total it to £1900. so £1400 cheaper the expected

1 month = Haswell. Spending that much on a dead chipset would be silly!

For 2k you can do a lot better. For 1k you can get everything you need out of them games, wait for Haswell and spend your money a little wiser.

Any link to show how much they are going to cost etc? I might just wait to build my rig and wait for these to come through.

As nice as that panel is some games have an issue with the aspect ratio. You could download the Windows 8 Enterprise (evaluation) Edition and try that for free on a 3 month trial, if you don't like it you can reuse the Windows 7 licence you have perhaps? ;)

Hexcore i7 CPU, Haswell won't touch that as only quadcores will be available. As a gamer you are probably better off looking at 120hz panels. Case is excellent and would match nicely with that Dell panel if you stuck with that.

Look forward to seeing what you settle on. We'd love to see a build log and that in turn would up your post count. At 100 posts you might well qualify for free P&P :)

hono has a point but what's the point of a 3930k if you won't use it. Its only a gaming rig. In the next few years games may start using 4 cores and hyperthreading but they will not use 6 cores and hypertherading.

Id wait and get the 4770k. (and the other bits from honos spec)

I've put it in as a tweaked "Power user" option. He seems a sensible chap, he may well wait till june and work towards getting the free P&P for when he does order. The 2011 build will still be valid, it's Ivy that Haswell will call into question.
