If true, wow. From the little I understand about the tech side those figures promise massive performance gains, not only over the current 7000 series but over nvidias best offerings too.

If they price it well, gpu competition will thrive.

Nvidia typically double their shaders between generations, in recent times the only one that didn't was the 480 and that was only because they had to chop an entire cluster out to make it run properly.

i really hope its true, with AMD gaming evolved kicking off big time, i will have some on release date!

and if BF4 is bundled with them, even better!

Am I seeing things or is their less compute units, does this mean that like the 680 from the 580, AMD are cutting back on the compute side of things to allow for more graphics processing power?

I was surprised at that.

Maybe its to bring the TDP of the card down a bit as im sure kepler would have a TDP closer to that of Tahiti if it actually had any decent compute capability.

I cannot see this (next) gen cards having a 512bit bus. The memory bus greatly impacts upon GPU size, complexity of the PCB, and price. A far more realistic and cost effective option would be to use a 384bit bus paired with faster 8000-12000MHz GDDR6 (due next year).

Saying all that, NVidia did manage to launch 40nm Fermi on a 384bit bus more than 3 years ago, so anything is possible.

Remember the 2900xt had a 512 bit bus. I owned two of those abominations. Its quite possible this will be 512bit.

I wonder if this is the card that 8pack hinted at when he said that it would destroy a titan? Whenever i pressed him on it afterwards he wouldn't give anything away though.

Yeah.... he's still hinting at it now. :D
