Some pretty big announcements from them today.

Here is the list of their team - http://www.btlife.bt.com/entertainment/bt-sport-announces-a-great-line-up-of-sporting-talent/

Darren Fletcher – one of the most familiar voices on BBC Radio 5 Live – and Ian Darke, who has covered all 21 seasons of the Barclays Premier League as well as Champions League finals and five World Cups for various broadcasters.

Premier League referee Mark Halsey joins BT Sport in August in a brand new role in the commentary team working across the channels’ football coverage.

Double Champions League winners Owen Hargreaves and Steve McManaman, as well as former England No1 goalkeeper David James MBE, will be on BT Sport’s team of football experts.

As previously announced, sports broadcaster Jake Humphrey will be the anchor of BT Sport’s 38 exclusively live Barclays Premier League football matches while Ray Stubbs joins as chief football reporter.

Rio Ferdinand will join as an interviewer, programme-maker and football expert

Pretty good line up of people if you ask me... and the biggest news...

BT Sport will be free to any consumer BT broadband customer - http://www.btlife.bt.com/entertainment/bt-sport-to-be-free-with-bt-broadband/

The three BT Sport channels – BT Sport 1, BT Sport 2 and ESPN – will be packed with world class sport, including 38 exclusively live Barclays Premier League matches, as opposed to the 23 ESPN offered. This includes 18 of the best quality ‘top pick’ matches which for the first time ever are not all with Sky Sports.

BT Sport will also offer matches from the Bundesliga, The FA Cup with Budweiser on ESPN, Scottish Premier League, UEFA Europa League, Serie A, Ligue 1, MLS and many more.

Imagine if Sky decided to follow suit and actually offer their customers some value for money.

12 quid a month and 15 quid signup for Sky customers. Bit steep.

Plus £3 extra per month if you fancy HD (They are offering this free for the year if you sign up before August 1st).

Would have been tempted to get as I was already paying for ESPN but not at the prices they're touting.

LIne up is crap, Hargreaves should stick with his 80's youtube work out vids, Mcmanaman's great from this week was that Koralov shouldn't get a red because the other guy bent down a bit.....

Ferdinand is a complete idiot, Halsey has been everywhere for years putting his rubbish opinions about in the press after every big refereeing decision.

What value for money, its £15 a month by the sounds of it, with £15 sign up, to get HD football, while sky sports is pretty much cheaper. £15 for 38 games on BT is, lets call it £3.95 a game assuming you subscribe for 10 months, August - May inclusive.

Sky sports actual cost is £42.50, 116 games, thats £3.66 a game, that ignores that most people pick up the movies for essentially free due to the "max" package price being so close when you get sports and basic package. So ultimately no one is paying close to £42.50 a month just for sky sports, and it ignores everything else you get on Sky Sports, while BT will offer nothing else at all.

BT should be at most changing £5 a month, Sky are charging you less per game in the first place in the worst case scenario, in reality Sky are charging significantly less even if you only watch football, if you watch other sport on Sky, then the value only increases.

To be fair I got the prices slightly off with Sky as well, it costs like £10 more to get entertainment + which gives you hd on sky but also 80 channels, so its hard to really put down a specific cost, when you have sports, movies become half price, etc. Ultimately the sky sports package is £21 a month and HD is £10 a month, even ignoring the value of everything else you get, its £31 a month to get sky and 116 games a year, or £15 to get 38 games from BT, it can in no way be called good value, actually I'll restate that, its not better value than Sky, and Sky don't offer poor value in the first place.

Ok, if you have BT broadband(currently we do) you get it free, but BT fibre is, I believe, no longer the cheapest option, and plenty of people get Sky deals, half off their subscriptions and the like.

I've never really found Sky to be expensive, it COULD be cheaper, so could a bottle of beer, or a pair of socks, so what. For the price of two Arsenal tickets a month you can get a couple hundred channels, hundreds of films, a dozen + games a month, major coverage of a dozen other sports, comedy/drama channels, etc, etc. Its hardly "expensive" for the quantity of stuff you get/use.

£15 a month for 38 games a year, well £180 because most wouldn't bother cancelling between seasons for 38 games isn't ridiculous expensive, nor is it cheap. Considering Sky costs double but gives you 3 times the football and a shedload of other stuff, Sky is massively better value. Obviously it would hurt other sports deals if Sky offered a football only £10-15 a month option, but as quite a lot of their customers don't watch anything other than football, it should probably be available.

As a Infinity user it looks like I get BT Sport and ESPN free and the HD versions free for 12months. get the **** in. Been thinking of dropping sky sports for some time as I can generally get a stream or 2 of decent quality whenever Liverpool play, this could finally swing it.

I dropped Sky last year as I don't get the chance to watch enough football and I moved my broadband to BT. Massive winner for me. I can't justify paying for football, but getting it free is great.

I'm pretty sure my ESPN subscription was only a tenner a month, where does the other fiver come from? I'll still get it as I hate missing any televised games but can't help but feel a little ripped off.

Already with Sky and BT Broadband so I'll get it free. Looks like the whole world is putting in their orders this morning.

Hmm my exchange is 'Accepting orders' for Fibre optic (still on BB) but BT won;t allow me to order it :S Will have to call them to see if I can take their £16 a month BB (which is £2 less than my current O2 package) and then be able to upgrade to fibre within the 18 months. I've just come back to sky on their 1/2 price for a year deal so I'm only paying 28 for everything so have no intention of going to Virgin before then if it was ever available

A five minute wait and now got it free (HD)on our Sky box.

Edit: confirmation from BT

BT Sport 1 on channels 413 / 426
BT Sport 2 on channels 414 / 427
ESPN on channels 417 / 433

The BT Sport HD pack will be £3/month after 12 months.
