Heads up -Shell Vouchers

Just used this in my local station which was listed as a participating one. I filled up then went in to pay, handing over the printed voucher. The cashier turned to her manager and said 'Look - its another one of these vouchers'. He had a quick look and said 'Thats fine'.

He then said they had only just started accepting them again today. Apparently their head office had given them no guidance or info on taking them so yesterday when the first few appeared they refused to accept them, much to the annoyance of the customers. He then contacted his head office/line manager who emailed them with guidance and cleared them to accept the vouchers. Nice to see he was proactive in trying to clarify the position instead of just blankly refusing to take them.

Saved a few quid on Shells new V Power Nitro fuel which they have only just started selling at this station this week. Result!!

Just a heads up, the local Shell to me gave ma 10p off voucher for Vpower/Vpower diesel, if you put £40 or more in.

Glad you got it ok Draegar, as to your question
There is no indication that most sites accept it, not publically anyhow.
I expect the ones which have got refused is purely down to lack of awareness at that site like in the example from Draegar.
When a new voucher starts there always someone that wont be aware of it straight away, same with the WHsmith and Nationwide vouchers last year

FYI

This first phase will be available until the 29th May, then phase 2 will start which is 5p of V-power fuels.

The Shell garage near Bath wanted 151.9p for Nitro+, can anyone beat that? They aren't part of the scheme and wonder if they have actually sold any of the stuff.

Shell Pennsylvania are stupid for V-Power. After realising what a rip off they are I will never use them again. Round here I use the Bristol one near the end of the ring road, and in London on Thursday I paid 139.9 for V-Power :).

Used mine tonight and worked fine.

Asked about the 10p off vpower voucher, but he wasn't aware of it. It didn't appear on that spreadsheet list so wasn't expecting him to, but good to get 5p per litre off anyway!

Thanks OP

used 1 yesterday the young guy behind the counter had a face like I handed over a dog turd.

he scanned the barcode and worked fine thankfully, but by look on his face he hasn't seen one before.

Yeah its out the way any way, was only passing and thought I'd see how much it was, so just went for normal instead. Usually put in Momentum 99 which is the only SUL in the area that isn't a rip off.

I used mine on Saturday in the Shell in Lingfield which was on the list online. However the member of staff didn't have a clue how to put it in, I just told her to scan it in, it worked but then I wanted some chewing gum and apparently it wouldn't accept other items on the same sale, a queue formed while she was faffing about so I told her I'd do 1 transaction for petrol and another for the gum.

Bit of a effort just for £1.43 off my petrol really

Its good to know that they are accepting them even if they are not on the list. I'll give them a go in Solihull and see.

I've used 3 since Thursday and each time the cashier has looked at me blankly, I've asked them to scan the barcode and the till has made the deduction.
