Most Underrated TV Show?

Yeah Reaper was good :(

I thought Moonlight was underrated and deserved longer. It has the criminally underrated Jason Dohring as well (who seems to have an almost Summer Glau like gift of being in cancelled shows)

I liked Reaper! If you enjoy that, you might want to check out Haven (which is still going, hurrah!) and Wonderfalls (which is not). Wonderfalls is probably closer to Reaper, I really liked it.

I don't think I've seen Falling Skies but if it has anything to do with aliens I'm out! One of the things that bugged me about Jericho was the lack of emphasis on gathering supplies, I know they had farms around the town but it was just as if the bombs never dropped the way everyone was just carrying about their business. The only thing that kept me watching was the whole FBI/terrorist sub plot stuff.
Well, and the hot deaf girl until they killed her off.

Indeed, Aliens, but it is nicely done imho.

I loved Rubicon :)

It got great reviews, and the ratings weren't all *that* bad considering the network - not too far off the ratings for Mad Men on the same network (AMC) at roughly 1.2M series average vs 1.4M for the first series of Mad Men.

It did tell a very complete and self-contained story though. Much as I enjoyed it, I struggled to see how it would progress to further seasons without getting a bit contrived (though, frankly, I thought the same about Homeland to a certain extent and look how that turned out).

I guess it'd just pick a new 'case' they are working on but not sure how they'd keep it as intertwined with their daily lives etc as the original series.

Still was an awesome show and relatively realistic for a TV program I've been told (which I know has also been the speculation as to one reason why it may have been canned, whether you believe that or not..).

did watch Last Resort about a month ago though. Wasn't terrible, but it was quite silly, not hard to see why it didn't get renewed.

I thought it started strongly but the plotline didn't go where I expected (the trailers and pilots pitched it as a submarine drama) and it had too many weak episodes.
The captain became far too self-righteous (not sure if this was intentional in a Lord of the Flies type way - the way some of the scripting/acting played out it wouldn't surprise me if this was an unintended side effect) and most of the characters were one-dimensional. I never really understood why a US military unit was kowtowing to a local drug lord either given some of the things he was getting up to, surely they could have taken him out? It seemed like he was just there to try and provide some fodder for the middling episodes and play a semi-political role at times

Another one to add to the list that I started watching the other day (and already 7 episodes in): The Finder. It's got the same sort of fun feel and charm to it as Chuck (at least in the first season or two), Haven and Breakout Kings. Great cast, good characters and doesn't take itself too seriously. Was also Michael Clarke Duncan's final TV appearance before he died last year.

Shame it only ran for a 13-ep season.

Justified.

This.

I'm thoroughly enjoying it at the minute and Season 3 has just been added to Netflix so I'm half way through that.

Timothy Olyphant is utterly class although he was equally as in Deadwood which is another show that deserves another season.

Yeh I'm just getting stuck in with Justified, half way through season 1 so far and loving it. The dialogue is excellent.

Justified isn't underrated, it's one of the few shows that gains viewers every season and has won all sorts of awards :p

Speaking of great dialogue, The Unit is another one that's very underrated, barely anyone I know has seen or heard of it. It's got some of the best dialogue of any TV show I've seen, really has an authentic feel to it. The wives' storylines get a bit annoying at times but it's easily forgiven.

Yeah I actually quite enjoyed it as well, shame it got cancelled so early, the last ep was a bit ridiculous :p
