• Competitor rules

Please remember that any mention of competitors, hinting at competitors or offering to provide details of competitors will result in an account suspension. The full rules can be found under the 'Terms and Rules' link in the bottom right corner of your screen. Just don't mention competitors in any way, shape or form and you'll be OK.

Who's skipping the 7xx series then ?

You need to be looking at why it is Blue screening and if you need to downclock your card, I would be looking to RMA. That certainly shouldn't be happening in any game.

I've already been in contact with EVGA and had the option to RMA. But having spoken to the tech and gone through a few forum posts decided not to RMA as it wasn't certain if it's the card or an issue with Win8/Nvidia drivers.

The BSOD's with BF3/Crysis3 seem to be a common issue with the OC cards, it was speculated that the BSODs are a sign that the OC is to close to the cards limits, or a sign that it needs more volts (perhaps?).

The card will run for hours without issue on max load with various benchmarking tools, such as Heaven.

But perhaps a conversation for another thread rather than moving this one off topic.

Agreed about another thread but with EVGA, you are getting the best customer care and if it is the card, they will have no problems replacing it. I assume you tried different drivers? Some of the later drivers have been causing issues on a few systems and plenty of users are having to revert to an earlier driver.

If you have tried that and had no joy, maybe a new thread will help solve your problem.

I have the same card's if it's the 670 FTW and have no issues with either BF3 or Crysis 3. I have the Power target slider in Precision set to max with the cards auto boosting to 1205Mhz. Try setting the power target slider to max and see if it helps.

I'll open a new thread when I get home to discuss this.

Thanks both.

Like you I cant think of anything current or coming that sli 670s arnt destroying at 1080 especially clocked and under water. In fact theres nothing coming cpu or gpu wise in the next 18 months that im going to consider
Just got my second wf 670 installed tonight, about to pop on for a blast on bf3. Pretty pleased with the temps at idle so far, (29c and 24c) this is in a case with shockingly bad air intake and stock auto fan setting.

Still kinda hoping my current 670 SLI might be it for me for pc gaming, and just stick with next gen consoles. Will see though.

Seem to have far less time for gaming unfortunately, so I think the simplicity of console will be a better way to get my money's worth.

 How dare you betray us! Burn the traitor! :p

Well seems I am skipping the 7XX series as well. Couldn't resist those 7950's at £199 with games. Got 3 on order and will destroy any upcoming 7XX Nvidia card :D

Voltage locked and no VRM cooling, might be why they are cheap. Good price though especially after selling off the games.

Yeah that's what I thought, will work out about £170 per card.. Won't be able to beat that value VS price for a long while yet. So I'll buy into the next gen probably GTX 8XX /HD 9000 series cards late when prices are better..

The voltage lock won't be a bad thing, I will run them stock in Tri-Fire, doubt will need to overclock lol.

I read that Tri-Fire actually produces far less m stutter than 2 cards in crossfire? Anyone else got any experience with that?
